And by ‘baby’, I mean coffee (sorry Beyonce). Yeah, it was a jumbo cup kinda morning.

Last night, I worked until about midnight, which makes two late nights in a row.  Not okay for us g-mas.  This morning, I looked severely haggard (love that word).  Not even this could help…

Optimum Blueberry Cinnamon cereal, banana + skim milk

Does anybody else approximate they eat about 7 servings of cereal a morning?  I am pretty sure I do.  Don’t ever measure out cereal.  It’s pathetic the amount you get.

What’s not pathetic?  Mini-meals! I love having several yummy dishes to look forward to throughout the day.

1 cup 0% Fage Greek yog
1 smashed naner
1 Kashi Honey Almond Flax granola bar
AB frosting

Okay, so I realize it looks like I pooped in my Palak Paneer, but in actuality, that is just how the dish looks.  Like poop.

After work, I came home, shoveled down more Food Should Taste Good Cinnamon chips (like the ones above) and headed out for a 6-mile run with my friend Brett.  Twas’ a good run, which was a huge relief.

When I got home, I made a salad that sounded really delicious in theory but only turned out meh

bed of organic baby spinach
mashed black beans (seasoned w/ cumin + garlic)
1/4 cup salsa
1/2 red pepper
1/2 avocado

The salad was meh (not enough salsa?), but the chips WERE SO GOOD.  If you like lime flavoring (*cough, margarita-flavoring, cough*), you will j’adore these chips.  They are the perfect salty, tangy bite and saved this salad from perhaps turning up on this Web site.

Also, just an FYI, I don’t always post everything I eat.  Some days I do, some days I don’t.  Just sayin’.

This weekend is GINORMOUS, so I need to rest up.

  • FRIDAY: Work 1/2 day, drive to parent’s house, tour a community health clinic, drive to MN.
  • SATURDAY: Run 20 miles (hopefully this lady will run part way with me), buy a wedding present, attend the wedding of one of my childhood friends, get my mom dance on.
  • SUNDAY: Meet up with my bestie Ashley, drive back to WI, get my life in order for Monday.

In other words, you may or may not see back around bloggyville until Sunday.  Alright, I am out to go to watch Glee on one of my other favorite Web sites.  Yeah, I’m poor and still don’t have a TV.

P.S. A belated shoutout to my gal Andrea who also made Granny Everythingtarian’s Banana Bread.  She would be so proud :).

Whatcha all looking forward to this weekend? Spill the deets a day early since I won’t be around.  I think I am most looking forward to getting the big 20-miler behind me!

Hey girl, don’t be afraid of the beet greans! Haha…seriously, they’re really, really good. Try chopping some up and using it as lettuce or sauteeing them in a bit of olive oil and nutmeg (if you’re a nutmeg fan…otherwise, go for something like garlic and onion which is equally good. :D )

Best of luck with the 20-miler, by the way…you’ll do great! :D

Wow! That sounds like one full weekend! Unfortunately, we don’t have anything exciting planned for the weekend; just lots of annoying stuff to take care of… Oh, but the toddler is going to “movie night,” which means the parents get to go out too… So I guess it’s not as boring as I thought… ;)

BTW, the banana bread is already gone and was loved by all! The teenager actually asked this morning, “So why did you make banana bread? Did you see it on a blog?” I guess I’m quite predictable…

Hubby “discovered” Hulu a while ago, but I’m really trying to stay away…

I don’t really know yet. my teenager won’t be home till Saturday evening so me and the Man have an extra night…with the baby…hahaha

I suppose some sort of long cardio, a bike ride, maybe some more park time…and Sci Fi

Serving sizes are crazy. Annoys me most when it’s something like a cookie and it has 2.7 servings or something. Who are these “0.7” people?!

Yogurt messes and jumbo coffee = awesome day.

I am totally missing cereal, and already “snuck” in a few handfuls into my homemade local yogurt this AM because I was feeling so low, low, low without it. Immediately, my mood improved, and the little mini-meal boosted me. What did they do 100 years ago without cereal? Do you think I can make some?

Love the jumbo coffee! As for cereal…I can finish an 11 serving box of cereal in about 3-4 days. Why are cereal servings so small??? Lately, I’ve been loving Nature’s Path Flax Plus Pumkin Raisin Crunch. So gooood.

Your daily eats look yummy – I need to try the banana mess! Someone recently suggested mashing up a banana and adding 1/2 cup vanilla soy milk. Apparently it tastes like banana pudding!

Food that looks like poop is sometimes the tastiest. Am I inadvertently saying that poop tastes good?

Your eats a faaaabuuuuloooous (say it really high pitched). I put some tortilla chips in my salad the other day too, but I ended up crushing them because it was just a lot easier to eat that way. By the way, those chips you were sent sound pretty amazing.

Good luck on the 20 miler! I did my 2 hour run Thursday night so I will be able to sleep in. Some brunch plans but nothing exciting. Love a free weekend!

I always measure out my cereal otherwise I’ll eat 1/2 the box in 1 sitting! I usually eat Fiber One and I always measure out 2 servings to eat. Who eats just 1/2 a cup of cereal?!
