Just Call Me Ms. Universe

HAPPY NATIONAL OATMEAL DAY!

Ahhh, if I had only known October 29th was National Oatmeal Day my whole life, I would have enjoyed this wondrous bowl of goodness so much sooner.

Today, I tried out a bowl of oats I’ve never had before: Mexican Hot Chocolate Protein Oats a la Janetha!

1/2 cup oats
1 cup water + 1/2 cup skim milk
pinch of salt
1 packet Tera’s Whey Fair Trade Dark Chocolate Protein Powder
Lots of cinnamon
drizzle of agave
Dark Chocolate Dreams PB

Chocolate + cinnamon = GLORIOUSLY DELICIOUS.

Look at these beautiful stats + facts…

CIMG5992

That would be about 30 grams total of filling protein. Not to mention, 90% of the bowl is organic, locally-made and natural.

Lunch was a yog mess made with homemade Greek yog.  If you haven’t been keeping up with the joneses – yes, you CAN make your own Greek yog for cheap!

1 cup nonfat organic homemade Greek yog
3/4 cup Kashi Heart2Heart
apple pie spice
1 sliced naner
glob o’ Bees Knees PB

CIMG5999

That would be another 30 grams of protein in mi estomago (ahem, stomach).

Instead of snacking on the carrots I brought, I instead turned to a big ol’ handful of trail mix.  Watch out all you female bodybuilders, The Healthy Everythingtarian is on a protein binge!

CIMG6000

Eight more grams.  Just not enough if I am going to win the Ms. Universe title!

After work, I snarfed down some PB+J toast (12 more grams) before hitting up Target Pharmacy before their 7pm closing time.  Now, I am home sipping on Pumpkin Spice Tea, making carrot fries a la mi maestra de espanol (carrots have protein, right? ;) ) and getting down to business.

And by business, I mean turning myself into this…

Until then, go show my gal Ruthie some love by welcoming her back to the blogworld and entering to win some of her homemade inspirational magnets!

I was quite depressed when I learned it was oatmeal day AFTER I’d made french toast. That is, until I realized I already celebrated it 200+ times this year :P Mexican oats sound glorious!! Definitely trying that out.

I put Designer Whey protein in my oatmeal. It is flavorless and love it. Glad you are kicking the protein up a notch, great way to build muscle!

    Have a great weekend!

  36. Courtney F Says:

Were you trying to turn in to the women posing or the little statue?!?! I kid I kid!
I celebrate Oatmeal day about 325 days of the year! There are those rare occasions that I’m not digging the creamy goodness. It is rare though!

  37. Sarah (Finding My Balance) Says:

You know, I’m all for protein, but please, don’t turn into the overtan mass of muscle. I like you just the way you are!

  51. Kailey (SnackFace) Says:

Well if that body building photo isn’t startling, I don’t know what is. I used to have cheer+dance competitions at the Arnold Shwarzneger(sp?? I’m being a bad journalist and not fact-checking that right now) Classic, which is a body building competition thang. It’s WILD to walk around that place. Definitely interesting.

Please stop making me want Greek yogurt. I really really really miss it :*( Da messes look so good, and they work so well with that Greeky tang…shooooo homie be CRAVING.
