Things I Have Done This Weekend…
…so far.
(1) Drove 4 hours to Minnesota after working at my full-time job all day, working at my part-time job all night and arriving in the Land of 10,000 Lakes at 2:15am.
Lesson Learned: Don’t do this.
It was raining coming into to Minneapolis, and some dude slammed his breaks in front me me. This caused me to have to swerve, hydroplane and crash my car into the cement median. Luckily, the damage is only “vanity,” and I am okay. Looking back, it really was NOT smart to drive after such a busy Friday. If you feel tired people, stop and rest!
(2) Eat a bagel straight up dipped in cream cheese followed by the largest coffee I could order. This is a picture of Ashley + me in her car, eating a bagel and sippin’ java at 9am en route to…

(3) …watching one of my best friends run her very first 1/2 marathon! She did AWESOME. I mean, I am pretty sure I did not look this good at mile 13 during my first half marathon. Sooo proud of you Meggy Moo!

(4) Take a 2-hour nap following cheering Meggy Moo on since Ashley + I only got a mere 4 1/2 hours of sleep last night. Ugh, don’t remind me.
(5) Learn how to treat head and neck cancer from Ashley, a radiation therapist in training.
Apparently, to immobilize patients who suffer from such cancer, these plastic shields are melded to their heads to stabilize them for radiation treatment. This is perhaps the best picture to ever be featured on my blog.

P.S. I did not even force her to wear that Blogger sweatshirt. It was just fate
.
(6) Eat peanut butter + Ritz crackers straight outta the jar. Amazing.

(7) Inhale my first fruit/veggie serving of the day with an apple (dipped in more PB, obv).

(8) Got paid. All hail direct deposit!
(9) Receive a stellar package of love from Miss Ellie, which shall be revealed upon next post.
(10) Incredulously mention how crazy it is that it is almost November about 124 times.

Oh my gosh!! I’m so glad that you are okay!!! How scary! You didn’t know that you were going to have a “scary” weekend for Halloween, did you? You friend did look a hell of a lot better than I have ever looked running my half marathons.
I hope you have an uneventful rest of the weekend!
October 31st, 2009 at 4:26 pm
oops, “your” friend. It’s time for nighty nighty in Germany!!
October 31st, 2009 at 4:27 pm
Many lessons learned
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
October 31st, 2009 at 4:41 pm
Dipping the bagel is such a great idea. I don’t have time to be washing that many knives
October 31st, 2009 at 4:45 pm
Glad to hear that you are okay!
Ritz and PB together are absolutely amazing!
October 31st, 2009 at 4:58 pm
Driving and dipping your bagel into cream cheese… how do you do it?
I’m afraid to get a driver’s licence… cause chances are, I’ll go to the nearest supermarket, indulge in some wonderful beverage/snack and forget about all the other cars/traffic participants…
xxx
P.S. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
October 31st, 2009 at 4:58 pm
Oh wow I am glad you are alright!
Crackers and peanut butter is probably the best snack know to man. After cereal of course
October 31st, 2009 at 4:59 pm
Whoa, you’ve had an action filled Halloween!
I’m sad to say that I have been doing HOMEWORK all day. Yeah. My teachers think it’s funny to give more homework on holidays than on regular days. It isn’t.
October 31st, 2009 at 5:11 pm
wow – I haven’t had Jif OR Ritz in awhile, but the salty sweet combo is making me crave it right now.
October 31st, 2009 at 5:20 pm
You were in Minneapolis and didn’t tellll me?!?! What is this?! I’m hurt.
But I’ll get over it. That’s the Monster Dash!! Pretty much my favorite half marathon ever.. and I’m super sad/angry that my hip is currently fractured because it was a beautiful fall day and I missss runnnning. Big congrats to your friend though – she looks like she’s rockin it!
That face shield/hockey mask of doom looks very scary. Very scary indeed.
October 31st, 2009 at 5:21 pm
p.s. bring your butt back to Minneapolis soon so we can have a get together!!
October 31st, 2009 at 5:21 pm
Yay it cam
Happy Saturday to you! Love the Blogger sweatshirt…if there was a Healthy Everythingtarian one, I’d buy it. Somehoe I think, “Inside I’m Still Dancing” would attract strange looks (especially given my recent but irresistable urges to bust out some breakdancing moves randomly).
Bagels eating torn up and dipped in pots of cream cheese = awesome. Been there, done that and loved every bite.
Congrats to your friend (and interesting stuff about the radiation treatment!)
October 31st, 2009 at 5:22 pm
alright – who’s the dbag who made my preshie get in to a crash? glad to hear the ride is a-okay, depsite its battle wounds.
oh my god your PB cracker snack reminds me of ritz bitz.. true story: I used to prefer to cheese ones to the PB.. what was I thinking?
have a very merry holly-ween!
you know I’ve been waiting to say that for the entire month of october
October 31st, 2009 at 5:22 pm
OMG! I am so glad you are ok – how terrifying!!! I am a mess when a) driving at night b) driving in the rain and c) driving when I am tired. Ugh I couldn’t even imagine driving through that trifecta of wretchedness
Again, glad you are ok!
Aaaand yes, you are correct, peanut butter + Ritz ARE the most amazing things ever!!
October 31st, 2009 at 5:22 pm

October 31st, 2009 at 5:36 pm
I’m glad you’re okay! Long days plus long car rides rarely equal an uneventful journey for me… Have a great Halloween!
October 31st, 2009 at 5:45 pm
Glad you are ok, driving in the rain is always scary for me.
Congrats to your friend and her first race.
Happy Halloween
October 31st, 2009 at 5:52 pm
If I was in front of you right now I would hug you because you are alive and well and then I would probably roll my eyes and not give the lecture that us mothers cannot help but give in such circumstances, and then I would hug you again!
Love love and Happy Halloween
October 31st, 2009 at 6:00 pm
Glad you are okay! I (unfortunately) have also learned the not-driving-while-tired lesson the hard way. Oh well – I was okay too.
Have a haaaaaaapy halloween and I also cannot believe that it is (almost) November!! Wha?!
October 31st, 2009 at 6:07 pm

October 31st, 2009 at 7:37 pm
hi there, stumbled across your blog via Peas and Thank You. I like your everything-philosophy to eating and living – it’s pretty admirable. More specifically, i mean to tell you that something about that ripped n dipped bagel makes me drool.
October 31st, 2009 at 7:42 pm
Happy Halloween!!
Sounds like a fun day but the real question is.. how in the world did you get a blogger sweatshirt??
Have a wonderful night!
October 31st, 2009 at 9:23 pm

Ok being that I am a MN native and have ran Grandma’s Half Marathon…is that by any chance Duluth and was she running Grandmas? If so, OMF’ingG what a smalllllll worllllld!
First you’re a yoga teacher wanna be, then we both went to school 10 mins apart, and now you’re in MN for possibly grandmas? Girl, we were separated at birth
October 31st, 2009 at 9:28 pm
Sorry to hear about the wreck. So glad you are okay and the damage wasn’t too bad! Car wrecks are always so scary, but you are right… better to rest than drive when tired.
October 31st, 2009 at 10:45 pm
So sorry to hear about your scary crash. Glad you’re ok and damage was only cosmetic. Get home safe!
October 31st, 2009 at 10:48 pm
So glad you are ok!
October 31st, 2009 at 11:20 pm
I think the day went pretty fine, except for the first part…but bagel, cream cheese, and direct deposit pay sounds awesome!
November 1st, 2009 at 2:18 am
I’m sorry about the crash.
Happy 1st od November!
November 1st, 2009 at 6:29 am
Omg, I have not had creamy Jif + Ritz crackers in a long. ass. time. That sounds so decadent to me! I think I would almost choose that over cake!
Congrats to your friend for her first half marathon! That car accident is really scary too! Sometimes we need something like that to remind us of how important it is to be careful. Glad you’re okay!!!
November 1st, 2009 at 7:23 am
Car accident?? Yikes! So glad you’re ok! You get extra x’s and o’s on this post for that one! mmm…ritz and pb. that takes me back! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

November 1st, 2009 at 10:58 am
YAY for having money in da bank! You’ve got to (or maybe you don’t want to) try Nutella and Ritz – ooooooh deliciousness!
Congrats to your friend! I know I wouldn’t look that good in a race, haha!
November 1st, 2009 at 11:18 am
Catching up on things here! One of my favorite ways to eat bagels is ripping off pieces and dipping it in the cream cheese. Tastes 100x better. I can’t believe it’s November. You have every right to say how crazy that is many more times!
Congrats on your friend!
November 1st, 2009 at 12:57 pm
You were a dippin’ fool yesterday. And I made my Moroccan stew. IT’S ON, sister girl!!!
November 1st, 2009 at 1:12 pm
Hmm I have to say the hat/stabilizer is really kind of scary to me…it appears to be a straightjacket for the head. *shiver* Thanks for sharing though…now i know they exist!
Hey, i happen to like dipping bagels into cream cheese! hahah
Have a fabulous Sunday girl! And stop by if you’d like to win some flax crackers!
November 1st, 2009 at 1:25 pm
Glad to hear you and your vehicle are ok! Whew, nothing scarier than car accidents.
Nothing beats peanut butter crackers. Nothing.
Also, while the subject of cancer is not inherently funny in and of itself, that picture of your friend definitely is.
November 1st, 2009 at 1:49 pm
ahahahahaha I am in L.O.V.E. with that crazy picture. SO appropriate for the holiday no. But you do have my condolences on the state of your vehicle and the crash. As I have suffered many of those myself [vanity and otherwise] I feel your pain.
Please tell me you dressed as a crazy cult lady with a unibrow for halloween. That’s the only other thing I want from this post.
A photo of you dressed as a crazy compound lady.
November 1st, 2009 at 2:50 pm
Glad you are okay. And yes, driving when tired is dangerous and should be avoided. But then again, if that’s the standard mothers with small children should never drive…
Hope you enjoyed the rest of your weekend and got plenty of rest before you drive back. Should I even bother to ask about the flossing?…
November 1st, 2009 at 3:51 pm
Wow, so sorry about the wreck! So scary. Glad you’re ok
Your friend looked like she hadn’t even been running, major impressivo.
November 1st, 2009 at 5:30 pm
what a productive weekend! …hope you’re getting caught up on your rest now! driving tired is no joke.
November 4th, 2009 at 7:18 am
1) omg! glad you’re ok and it’s just minor damage.
2) dipping bagels into cream cheese containers – DUH. this is how i eat when i’m running late to places…which is often
