Top 5: Charlotte, NC

Honey, I’m hooooommmmeeee!

Yeah, that’s right.  I am backety back.  However, in case you are just catching up, I am back with no pictures.  After packing at 4:30am before my flight last Wednesday, I guess I was bound to forget something (that being my camera)!  That’ll teach me for next time. Although, it was quite a nice (almost) technology/blog-free break…

Anyways, I thought a quick Top 5 list from my Charlotte vacay would be fun, so here I go:

(1) Early Thursday morning, relaxing with Megan, E!’s Grammy Awards fashion police, coffee + breakfast.  Perfection.

(2) My Charlotte bloggy meet-up with Whit, Jessie + Stacey, which you can read about here.

(3) Dinner and the ensuing drunkenness as a result of splitting TWO bottles of wine with Megan at Press wine/food in downtown Charlotte, followed up with downing 10 chicken wings + spoonfuls of blue cheese at a bar I don’t remember going to (alternative name for this post: “Drunken Carnivore”).

(4) Shopping at all the cute boutiques (1 skirt, 1 dress, 1 blazer and 1 shirt later…) + driving around looking at gorgeous, massive old houses with Megs.

(5) Arriving back to Madison this afternoon and finding all this… (reviews to come!)

Here’s what my top 5 list looks like for tonight…

  • Workout
  • Clean my apartment
  • Chat w/ Susan re: Banff planning (!!!)
  • Send e-mails
  • Start a new freelancing writing project

What is the most exciting thing to happen to you in the past week? Let me hear it!

Most exciting thing that happened this past week? Hrm…I guess a girly shopping trip. It was so nice stepping away from homework and classes to just have a day *without* worrying about anything. And a stop at Starbucks for a latte while out and about was the cherry on the icecream. ;)

Sounds like you did it up right! The cruising around and checking out gorgeous old homes sounds particularly swell.

Also, alcohol or no alcohol, it’s extremely difficult for me to resist buffalo wings and blue cheese. I would’ve eaten 10 as well, given the opportunity.

Have a wonderful week, Holly Ringwald!

  19. Therese Says:

Yea I don’t remember eating late last night, but there is a stain on my shirt to suggest otherwise. Great…

If you can’t remember it never happened!

I’m glad you had such a great trip! I’m currently in New York City soaking up the last bit of my vacation with my brother (well, currently enjoying some nap and lazy time).

  25. Erica Says:

Hey girlie! Most of my protein comes from lentils/beans, milk, eggs, nuts, nut butter!

  26. BroccoliHut Says:

Awesome review material! I am especially interested in what you have to say about Gardein.
Highlight of this week? Warning: Dorky. I found out that I’ll be working with Duke Hospital eateries this semester to improve their sustainability practices (as part of a class). Yeehaw!

  27. Faith Says:

I’m glad you had a good time in Charlotte! What could be better than coming home to all that loot?! :)

  28. Jenny Says:

Welcome home! Even after forgetting your camera, sounds like you had an AMAZING trip!

Excitement for me?? Hmm making a new man friend…. ;)

  29. Susan Says:

Ha, I’ve been going Google Reader free – I’m only just catching up now. All I have to say is that you best not forget to bring your camera to Banff :P

Hey, sometimes you just gotta embrace that inner carnivore. Also, I love all the gardein products I’ve tried! The texture is kinda creepy because it’s just like meat, but I really like how it’s natural-ish and how they spice the stuff.

Most exciting thing to happen this past week? Deciding to move to Toronto!!! My mom was also in town and cleaned my apartment top to bottom. That was pretty sweet too :)
