By the Numbers

1

actual picture of myself taken this weekend while kickin’ it at the Everythingtarian abode

15

days until Sissy Everythingtarian #3 leaves us to head into the great big world of college in Colorado :(

2

meals that involved meat this weekend, including this wrap (turkey/spinach/pepper/cucumber/Laughing Cow French Onion + yellow mustard) alongside cottage cheese + tortilla chips

a buttload

the amount of watermelon I ate after consuming the above photographed lunch

3

the number of ingredients in the BEST potato dish ever: local red potatoes, 1 packet Lipton’s French Onion soup mix + 3 T canola oil

189

the rough guesstimate for how many roasted sunflower + pumpkin seeds were tossed over the most glorious salmon salad (mixed greens, spinach, cucumber, tomato, carrot, bell pepper, grilled salmon, seeds + balsamic vinaigrette)

5

mondo bites needed to devour this homemade mixed berry short cake (recipe to come)

2

food babies birthed after eating this 3-course dinner

270

minutes spent lounging in front of the cable-able TV this weekend – including a major Say Yes to the Dress marathon as well as two good movies, Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr…swoon) + Leap Year

17

the number of minutes I spent lazily laying on the couch until I finally decided to get my arse up and make an Everythingtarian-approved breakfast for the fam this morning

4

different pancake varieties for my peeps to choose from – blueberry, strawberry, banana chocolate chip and plain (all based off of this recipe)

16

the number of miles covered by Mama Everythingtarian + I over the course of this weekend – 9 of them running and 7 of them walking (not all at once, I assure you)

3

crosswords attempted by yours truly – two of them I did not finish (in my defense, they were the NY Times) and one I did finish (that one being the crossword in People magazine…no shame)

1

delicious-looking Sweet Potato Muffin to devour on the ride back to Madison

255

the number of minutes I spent driving in a car this weekend

6

times I listened to Gypsies, Tramps + Thieves by Cher on repeat while driving and singing at the top of my lungs (for the record, I do a pretty killer Cher impression)

1

vegan meal enjoyed by yours truly this weekend, courtesy of Terry Walter’s CLEAN FOOD cookbook, in the form of Millet Black Bean Patties with Corn

0

the number of times I successfully flipped these patties (which explains the crumbly, yet still amazingly delicious, mess you see in the above picture)

$45.70

the amount I spent on a pair of black capri leggings, adorably cute steel blue shorts + a chambray button down tunic this weekend

an infinitely, gigantically and astronomically huge amount

how much I love my family

Great numbers post!!! I do one every wednesday, and they’ve gotten to be a favorite around here…

Ilana August 1, 2010 at 9:22 pm

I am obsessed with your hair. I am such a creep.
Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves is insanely good. I put it on repeat when I walk home sometimes…then suddenly Cher pops out and I start dancing in public…

mammaeverythingtarian August 1, 2010 at 9:26 pm

AWE!!!! To infinatey and beyound—how much we love you back.

Erica August 1, 2010 at 9:29 pm

What a great post. The short cake, Millet Black Bean Patties, pancakes and sweet potato muffin all look amazing. What a great weekend of eats. Ah- so jealous of your tv/relaxing time. I ended up working way too much this weekend= lameeeeeeeeee

Run Sarah August 1, 2010 at 9:32 pm

Love the numbers post. Your eats and family time sound amazing! I can never flip foods (omelettes, pancakes, patties) which is why I always make my burgs in the oven!

Heather August 1, 2010 at 9:44 pm

GIRL! I made those patties tonight. They’re pretty yum. I also made the Banana Coconut Chocolate Chip cookies and they are SO GOOD.

Diana @ frontyardfoodie August 1, 2010 at 10:01 pm

Love it. Love the whole post.

I would have spent more time lazing on the couch. haha

Madeline - Greens and Jeans August 1, 2010 at 10:07 pm

Sweet potato muffin?! There was so many amazing things in this post but that’s all I can think about…

Angharad August 1, 2010 at 10:16 pm

You’re cute.

Pancakes for the whole fam? What a winner.

Mimi (Damn the Freshman 15) August 1, 2010 at 10:30 pm

Moebius Strip = the amount of ice cream I put away this weekend!

You clearly had an awesome weekend!

Danielle August 1, 2010 at 10:38 pm

So glad to hear you had an immensely fantastic weekend!

…any pancakes left? :)

highonhealthy August 1, 2010 at 10:42 pm

I’ve never seen a number post before but I’m loving it!

How the heck do you get the batter around the fruit in your pancakes to cook so nicely? It must be an inherited skill and one that I never received.

Allison R. August 1, 2010 at 11:22 pm

I always save your posts to read last at night because they are my favorite :) Can’t wait for the recipe, it looks amazing! Also, my best friend and I are known for randomly breaking out in song to Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves…great minds think alike ;)

Megan August 1, 2010 at 11:38 pm

So for the potatoes, you boil them and then coat them in the canola oil/soup mixture and grill? That sounds so simple and delicious!

Chelsea (Chelsea's Chew and Run Fun) August 2, 2010 at 2:30 am

I don’t know what looked more delicious in your montage of weekend eats: the berry short cake, red potatoes, salmon salad, or sweet potato muffin. Glad you’re cramming in the sisterly time before she flies from the nest.

Lauren August 2, 2010 at 6:00 am

Girl, please don’t forget to post this shortcake recipe! I have been craving shortcake for weeks now and this does not help the cravings. ;)

Hope you had a wonderful weekend my dear friend!

Jessica @ How Sweet It Is August 2, 2010 at 7:42 am

You got all of that for $45!? I need to go shopping with you.

Jenny August 2, 2010 at 7:42 am

haha awesome post, and looks like you and your family are having a great time!

And I totally agree about NY Times crosswords…they are KILLER.

Uncle Tommie Timbertoes August 2, 2010 at 7:51 am

Awww, how can ya not love the love theme. I like the way Schopenhauer defines love. He calls love the “spirit of the species”.

Katie August 2, 2010 at 9:15 am

Mmm, those pancakes look phenomenal. WIll you come to my house and make them for me this morning? I’m hungry. I’ll provide the coffee…

Also, I really love how much you love your family. I’m totally the same way – I’m just giddy with appreciation and affection for mine. Glad you got to hang out with yours this weekend! :-)

Sarah (Running to Slow Things Down) August 2, 2010 at 11:41 am

Aww….best. post. ever. Although I think I say that about a lot of your posts. ;)

The pancakes look amazing, by the way! I need to make some soon. :D

Katharina August 2, 2010 at 12:02 pm

Nicole @ Geek Turned Athlete August 2, 2010 at 1:12 pm

That is exactly what my hair looked like yesterday after our road trip and my two day race. I didn’t care that I scared gas attendants with my hair and no makeup. I was so tired. Yay for big curly hair!

amanda August 2, 2010 at 2:42 pm

i love this whole thing. but i love the last sentence the best. family is just kind of awesome. xoxo

Emily (A Nutritionist Eats) August 2, 2010 at 2:58 pm

Susan August 3, 2010 at 9:08 am

Awww, you are making me miss my family!!! Even though I just saw them like last week :P

1) It’s impossible to NOT eat watermelon by the buttload. It seems I can only eat it half a melon at a time.

2) RDJ (Robert Downey Jr) is currently at the top of my crush list. Swoon indeed.
