Chillaxin’ Christmas

I hope you are all having a WONDROUS time celebrating the season – I know I am!  Mine has been full of playing games (mostly Bananagrams + Scrabble), watching movies (Australia, White Christmas + Footloose), couch potatoing (self-explanatory), snacking (refer to this blog), not showering (no shame), present opening and family enjoying.  In other words – good times.

During fun family times like this, I don’t really worrying about photographing everything I eat.  So, this is just a mere recap of the shenanigans of the past couple days…

Breakfast yesterday was AH-MAY-ZING (not to toot my own horn or anything).  I used Polly’s recipe for Oaty Cakes and made one small substitution – instead of 1 cup Greek yogurt, I used 1/2 cup Greek yog + 1/2 cup canned pumpkin puree.

Pumpkin Oaty Cakes it was…a.k.a. genius.

Slathered with PB + maple syrup…naturally.

This morning, my mom made French Toast with Ezekiel Bread

Also slathered with PB + maple syrup…naturally.

Then after filling our bellies with some all-organic french toast (Mama Everythingtarian is cool like that), twas’ present opening time under the Christmas tree!

My little sister got a new Nintendo Wii Fit game, and we busted that out shortly thereafter.

While setting up the new Wii Fit Plus, I did a lil’ snackage…

Yes, I ate five clementines.  Then followed that up a bit later with an apple sprinkled with cinnamon and dipped in PB.  Plus, I think a Blueberry Chobani yog and Kashi Blackberry Graham bar were consumed sometime around lunch as well.

The reason I can’t quite recollect all I ate is because we played Wii for FIVE hours.  Haha…yes, FIVE hours.  And I can officially call myself the Kung Fu Rhythm Champion!  Woooo wooooo!

Isn’t she precious? ;)

While we played, Mama Everythingtarian had a full-on Thanksgiving-esque dinner cooking away in the kitch, complete with turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, mashed red potatoes, corn, garlic bread, green beans and gravy…

Even after some more snacking, I ate this plate clean.  No lie.

Then I suffered some stomach pains + indigestion, which I tried to cure with a Diet Coke.  Sometimes I surprise myself with my own stupidity.

Luckily, I dominated in several games of Bananagrams and feel much better.  Annndddd…I’ve never seen the movie The Hangover, and my dad literally just pressed play.  So I am outta here to learn lots of moral lessons stare at Bradley Cooper for two hours…

What was the best part about your holiday? Mine was just hanging out with my family and chillaxin’!

Matt December 25, 2009 at 9:57 pm

I think the best part of my holiday was RELAXATION. And eating a lot ;)

Sam (Merit to the Carrot) December 25, 2009 at 10:09 pm

How weird…. I got a Wii fit too! The balance exercises are hilarious :)
I’m also watching The Hangover as we speak.. Coincident? I think not.

I made polly’s oaty cakes for my family’s christmas breakfast today, with bananas! I’d never made them before (and the job was gloriously sloppy) but they LOVED them. So much that I didn’t get to have any! I guess I’ll just have to make them again :)

Anything slathered with PB + maple syrup is a perfect day in my book.
Merry Xmas Holly, looks like it’s been a good one for you and your fam :)

Susan December 26, 2009 at 6:44 am

My step-siblings got a Wii too!! They brought it over to their mom’s place after opening it though, so I missed out on all the action.

Uff, glad to hear I’m not the only one who nursed tummy pains yesterday. But that’s what Christmas is for, err, right? :P

My favourite part about yesterday was cooking up my contributions to the family dinner. It was soooo nice to work in my mom’s big and fabulous kitchen :D

Chelsea @ (Chelsea's Chew and Run Fun) December 26, 2009 at 2:17 pm

I heart the Wii Fit. It makes video game playing seem like less of a lazy hobby.

All of your food looks hearty and delicious! Specially those oaty cakes!

The highlight of my holiday was a tie between volunteering at the community center Christmas dinner and eating Cornish hens and yakkin’ with my best buds.

Sarah (Running To Slow Things Down) December 26, 2009 at 2:21 pm

Merry, Merry Christmas! :D

Favorite part of the holidays? Hmm…definitely Christmas Eve, when we have my mom’s side of the family over. We play hilarious games and make fools of ourselves while enjoying good food. Love it. :D

glidingcalm December 26, 2009 at 3:30 pm

Jenny December 26, 2009 at 6:36 pm

board game victories have the power to remedy anything — even bloated belly woes :) Hope you had a very merry Everythingatarian Christmas, lovepie. *hugs!*

daintyvegan December 26, 2009 at 7:33 pm

Ahaha, The Hangover is AWESOME! At least I find it so. Actually, the first time I watched it, I was like, “This is funny..” Then I watched it again and thought, “This is AWESOME!”

I think it depends on who you watch it with too.. or maybe it really just get funnier the more times you watch it. And I want to watch it again.

PS. How do you make oatey cakes?

Special K December 27, 2009 at 1:57 am

The best part of my Christmas was getting to hang out with my brother in high stimulation times (getting to find the airport in Prague with NO map and STRANGE streets signs and a TRAM behind me) and low stimulation times…finding Bulgarian dudes to drink whiskey with.

I saw the oaty cakes…hmmm…

The Voracious Vegan December 27, 2009 at 6:05 am

The best part of my holidays is always the FOOD! Looks like you and your family had a blast, Merry Christmas!
