craziness.

Crazy is the operative word around these Everythingtarian parts lately.

If I am going to be honest with you dear readers, I am feeling a little behind on life. Quite frankly, my tired ol’ chocolate chip brown eyes gaze down at my ever-growing to-do list and ever-busy calendar, and I immediately want to do one of two things: (a) crawl in bed, sip bottle after bottle of kombucha and watch reruns of Glee on Hulu until I can no longer stand hearing their rendition of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing,” or (b) hop on a flight to Mexico, buy a taco stand and live out the rest of my days peddling Hispanic delicacies on the beach.

However, as appealing as both those options are, I am pretty sure starting a Mexican taco stand is complicated biznass and would only make my to-do list más grande. Plus, getting behind on blog stuff, cleaning and general life tasks probably just means I’m living my life in a big way, yo.

So, let’s not deny life, and the craziness that goes along with it.

Making Easy Fig Scones for the family Easter brunch only to take the majority of them back to Madison with you so you can actually have food to eat during the week?

Planning a Nutella-themed brunch featuring a spread including Nutella-Stuffed Brioche, Nutella Fondue, Nutella Crepes + Nutella Mochas for friends?

Gabbing with one of your best friends on the phone from London at 7:30am (or 2:30pm her time) to design her wedding website + discuss how we can make her big day even better and more of an international paparazzi sensation than William + Kate’s?

Running the Crazylegs 8K race for the second year in a row, this time untrained + with a horrible side cramp alongside Brett + Katherine (an Everythingtarian blog reader!) and still finishing the race in about 45 minutes?

Of course, the free beers post-race helped. A lot.

So did the Turkey Pesto Panini and oven-roasted potatoes.

Going on a date (yes, a date) and learning how to longboard in a mustard yellow corduroy skirt without flashing any random passerbyers?

Joining the Monkey Bar Gym 30-day challenge where it is suggested us participants workout eight times a week, eat vegan for the month and suffer through a juice fast in order to collect points and win the whole fitness shebang?

Yeah, it’s all a little crazy (especially that last one).

But let’s be real, that’s kind of how I like it.

A nutella brunch? That sounds AWESOME! Great job on the race. And opening a taco stand sounds pretty awesome to me. I’m in if you need a partner. I totally understand that “behind” feeling. I feel like I’m never going to be “ready” for the baby…but I guess no one is ever ready haha

Low May 1, 2011 at 7:42 pm

Congrats on the race time lady – you rock!
I feel you on the craziness. I’m totally in denial of how busy and stressed I’ve been, which is kind of good – ignoring it seems to help.
If you go the taco stand route, let me know and I’ll be your partner.

Sana May 1, 2011 at 7:43 pm

Can we just hide in bed with tacos?

VeggieGirl May 1, 2011 at 7:43 pm

Hang in there, dear Holly!! And major congratulations on the race time!

Lauren May 1, 2011 at 7:54 pm

Ugh, I totally understand. This was me 3 months ago, but I promise you, it gets better. Life does that from time to time. It gets a little too crazy just when you think you can’t handle it and then it balances out. You are tough girly! I know you’ll make it. :)

rebecca lustig May 1, 2011 at 8:00 pm

post race beer? they do that?!

Angharad May 1, 2011 at 8:01 pm

Oh my gee, you’re going to have so much fun at that wedding! Eeee. Let’s continue that crazy life of yours and make dinner plans for when you’re here. What says?

Lauren http://theclimbingchef.blogspot.com/ May 1, 2011 at 8:01 pm

It’ll get better! And when it does, you will miss the craziness :)
How was the date?! I also longboard but usually not in a skirt…. and I haven’t since last summer, which translates to me probably sucking really hard right now.

Come to Cali and we will hangout!!!!!

Jess May 1, 2011 at 8:03 pm

Awesome race!! Life’s feeling a little crazy for me too, but I’m trying (TRYINGGG) to go with the flow. But that goes against my planner self!

chelsey @ clean eating chelsey May 1, 2011 at 8:06 pm

I find that I thrive when I’m super busy – I kind of like it that way!

carin May 1, 2011 at 8:07 pm

Jessica May 1, 2011 at 8:57 pm

Mustard yellow corduroy skirt? Sounds sassy. Congrats on kicking butt at Crazylegs!

Matt May 1, 2011 at 9:04 pm

I would like that turkey pesto panini in my belly ASAP.

Emma (Namaste Everyday) May 1, 2011 at 10:20 pm

congrats on crazy legs! That sounds like a whole bunch of crazy fun! And PS – I like it crazy, too!

Erica D @ Gratitouille May 2, 2011 at 12:35 am

Whatever man teaches you to longboard in a skirt is a KEEPER! Eventually you’ll have an embarrassing (possibly scarring, literally) fall and he’ll be there to help you off the the ground and…oh, the scene is so cute in my head! Yay!

hippierunner May 2, 2011 at 12:50 am

Great job on the race!! You can do it-hang in there! Orr maybe just go with the Mexican taco stand thing? It can’t be that complicated- there is like one on every corner in LA. ;)

Brenna [fabuleuxdestin] May 2, 2011 at 3:15 am

Congrats on your race, that date sounds amazingly fun (and sounds like a cute outfit pick!), that gym thing sounds a little too crazy for me (I”m pretty sure a juice cleanse would morph me into a mega-bitch), and you are awesome ! I would consider going into Mexican taco stand business with you anyday!

Adam Deane May 2, 2011 at 3:52 am

If you do end up learning how to longboard well, can you promise to teach me? Please? I would wear my yellow jeans… and we could match. :) You crazy, but it’s cool ! Talk soon yo.

Katie May 2, 2011 at 5:49 am

Way to kick butt in the race! Congrats girl!!!

Ahhhhhhh you are busy! Same here ! Busy is good though!

Love u!

Madeline - Greens and Jeans May 2, 2011 at 7:15 am

My to do list is making my head spin. Of course, right now I’m drinking tea and watching the real housewives instead of tackling it. I’ll conquer it at 8:30…

brandi May 2, 2011 at 8:02 am

um…a date?!? details, please :)

great job on the run! and I’d like an invite to the next nutella brunch :)

sarah (sarah learns) May 2, 2011 at 8:21 am

i’m so jealous seeing crazylegs photos from everyone! i was out of town doing a wedding tasting and i’m so bummed i had to miss it!

Katherine: Unemployed May 2, 2011 at 12:20 pm

I love how crazy you are; I wish I had a little crazy in my blood today!

Vivianne May 2, 2011 at 3:06 pm

Sounds like my finals week! I always get so stressed out when things pile up and everthing seems so unbearable :( That’s when I end up “study eating” and “anxious eating”. So sad.

Your first paragraph made me laugh out loud. I’m reading food blogs at work and I got some weird looks but it was so funny I don’t even care. I love your sense of humor! Keep your chin up girl, and keep livin’ life!

Sarah@The Flying ONION May 2, 2011 at 6:30 pm

My to-do lists have been piling up so high, it’s almost ridiculous! I needed this post. I need your attitude. :D

Great job with the race!!!

Kaleigh May 2, 2011 at 7:06 pm

ha! Awesome! All good things, as Martha would say (Stewart, of course. Not Washington. Although maybe Mrs. Washington would say that…?).

Katie May 2, 2011 at 7:30 pm

If you ever decide to move to Mexico for a taco-stand-start-up, lemme know, I’m in.

Also, I want to hear more about this date and learning how to longboard (in a mustard yellow corduroy skirt).

amanda May 2, 2011 at 9:22 pm

a date? oh la la. you fancyyyy.

um, if you decide to run with the mexico/taco stand plan…give me a holler. i’m looking to escape and that sounds perfect. my spanish is a tad flaky, but i think i can hang.

Kaitlin With Honey May 2, 2011 at 9:30 pm

That all sounds crazy, yes, but it also sounds pretty awesome.

P.S. – Woo to the fun date!

sofia May 3, 2011 at 6:14 am

you are living proof that crazy in all senses of the word is very often a good thing. are you serious about that vegan/ workout challenge? c’mon now. that’s bananas. i wanna say good for you but i’m also kind of sorry. ;) good luck!

Heather @ Get Healthy with Heather May 3, 2011 at 9:39 am

I would so come to that nutella brunch! I think a crazy life is a fun life. Plus all your craziness keeps us entertained too :)

Megan (Braise the Roof) May 3, 2011 at 12:24 pm

That race looks like so much fun! Life’s been crazy around these parts, too- must be something in the air. :)

Megan@Dirty Dishes Daily May 3, 2011 at 3:23 pm
