Don’t Stop Movin’

Banana Butternut Squash Oatmeal rules.

1/3 cup oats
2/3 cup organic skim milk
pinch of salt
1/3 cup canned butternut squash
1/2 small banana
cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice + ginger
1 tsp. pure maple syrup
dollop of Dark Chocolate Dreams PB

Before I ate this lovely bowl, I had to go to the dentist to get a small cavity filled.  Since they numbed me up real nice, the dentist told me to eat soft food for breakfast as a safety precaution.  Apparently, he doesn’t realize I eat baby food almost every morning for breakfast.

Lunch was the same as yesterday

And thanks to Kailey and Jess for giving a shoutout to B*witched…our fave 90’s girl group!

Now who remembers S Club 7?  I die I love them so much.

I also LOVED the Ginger Ale Zevia. Carbonated, gingery and fizzy. Love.

Afternoon snackage involved almonds (x2) plus the last of my applesauce.  I saved my fave flavor for the end – Apple Strawberry.  It tastes just like a strawberry fruit roll-up.

After work, I went to work.  Depressing, I know.  It’s a good thing yog messes make me happy.  It helped ease the pain.

On my way home from work, two dumba$$e$ were drag racing on the highway.  One of them drove right between me (in the center lane) and the car next to me (in the left lane).  WTF?!?!  They had to have been going at least 120 mph.  My heart was pumping so loudly in anger, I called 911.  I hope their dumba$$e$ got caught.

A big thank you to Matt for flattering a girl oh so graciously with this award…

Beautiful blogger award

And now I must tell you 7 interesting things about myself…

  • I LOVE crumbs.  In fact, I am eating them straight out of a bag of yellow corn tortilla chips as I write this.
  • I was once a socially awkward child who would hide under the table at restaurants if I saw classmates I knew.

  • My friend keeps my 6th grade school picture in the visor of her car for when she needs a good laugh.
  • American Eagle boy cut underwear are one of the greatest assets in my life (no pun intended).
  • My name is Holly, because I was supposed to be born on Christmas.  Instead, I couldn’t wait to make my grand entrance and was born early on the 21st.

Both Nicole and Tina generously presented me with this…

BroccoliHut November 11, 2009 at 11:20 pm

Kailey (SnackFace) November 11, 2009 at 11:22 pm

S Cluuuuub…let us/me show you how-ow-ow…. Damn you for getting these songs stuck in my head.

Emily November 11, 2009 at 11:32 pm

I could never get into girl groups. I’ve always been all about the boys :)

to the questions: my mood is restless and my favorite color is yellow!

Nicole November 12, 2009 at 1:56 am

I soooo overthink things too!! I hate drag racers!!! There was a street in ABQ where kids would do that all the time! So annoying! And dangerous! Do I sound like an old lady yet? Well, I am!

Neela Marijana November 12, 2009 at 3:37 am

Jessica @ How Sweet It Is November 12, 2009 at 5:50 am

I found that applesauce at my store. I am sooo excited.

Lauren November 12, 2009 at 5:58 am

Oh my gosh, I CAN NOT WAIT for the recipe to that Stew. Every time I see it, I want to break open my computer screen and eat it! It looks sooo amazing. Please please please share soon!! :)

Chelsea @ (Chelsea's Chew and Run Fun) November 12, 2009 at 6:00 am

That applesauce sounds awesome. Where can one find it? I can’t get over your oatmeal innovations. Always so good!

Also, here are my two question/answers:

Missing Someone? “My entire family in California”

One Person Who Emails Me Regularly? “ (Apparently they do the same to Obama:

Uncle Tommie Timbertoes November 12, 2009 at 6:07 am

It made me laugh that your friends keeps an old pic of you from 6th grade — oh school pictures!

Abby (Nibble, Nourish, Run) November 12, 2009 at 6:33 am

Oh my goodness – B*witches. C’est La Vie. Taking me back lady…

Megan (The Runner's Kitchen) November 12, 2009 at 6:36 am

In 10th grade I had a HUGE crush on this guy – in my head I decided that “Never Had a Dream Come True” by S Club 7 would be “our song”. Oh lord, not sure why I just admitted that on the internet…haha.

Anyway, love your funny commentary, as usual! And I feel ya with the work overload. I would like a nice 2 week vacation. Starting….now.

Susan November 12, 2009 at 6:48 am

I’ve got to keep my eyes peeled for canned butternut squash, that oatmeal sounds wooooonderful!!

I love crumbs too. Mostly because they don’t contain any calories :P Two random facts about myself:

1. I used to be a competitive highland dancer
2. I can recite word for word, the story that appears on the back of a Captain Morgan bottle

Madeline @ GreensAndJeans November 12, 2009 at 7:12 am

well, we all know that there ain’t no party like an s club party…

Katie November 12, 2009 at 8:08 am

S cluuuuuub….I’m so with you on this!!

Also, my bday is December 22 – we are birthday neighbors!!

Chocolate Covered Katie November 12, 2009 at 8:26 am

Aww Holly, you are DEFINITELY a beautiful blogger!!

Katie November 12, 2009 at 8:34 am

I love boy groups! I was an N Syncer. But mainly a country girl!

Interesting facts, shocking you’d make a dramatic entrance ;)

I don’t remember either of those bands you mentioned. And a little cheese never killed anyone, I still will rock to stuff my friends just roll their eyes at.

insideiamdancing November 12, 2009 at 8:36 am

Gah, I hate dumb drivers. Some people shouldn’t be behind wheels- hope they got caught!

B*withched pretty much rocked- as did the TV show (showing my age now, though in my defense, reruns!)

K, 2 questions.

(27) Something you’re not wearing? a hat
(33) One place that I go to over and over? New York!

Paige (Running Around Normal) November 12, 2009 at 8:56 am

Those oats look good! I hope the dentist went well:)
I love crumbs, too! I secretly like to take the bag and tip it upside down so I can empty the crumbs into my belly, hehehe…secretly though ;)

Evan Thomas November 12, 2009 at 9:10 am

Glad to hear your safe after that action on the highway! Scary people out there.
As always your eats look good
And your birthday’s one day before my mom’s. Do you hate the whole being born close to christmas thing too?

Catue November 12, 2009 at 9:39 am

There ain’t no party like an S Club par-TAY!

And man, I remember when B*witched first came out!

PS: need your curry recipe!

Catue November 12, 2009 at 9:41 am

PPS: glad you weren’t hurt!

Erica November 12, 2009 at 9:45 am

yummmmmmmmmmy eats. Your lunchy is making my belly rumble. I can’t believe that about those two guys drag racing…what jerks. Glad you called the 5-0. I just saw that applesauce at the food store for the first time and got super excited. Hmmm…questions:

(2) Your hair? supurly (super curly today)
(3) Your mother? funny

Thanks for the comments on my blog- you made me smile :)

emily (a nutritionist eats) November 12, 2009 at 10:12 am

How do you come up with a new oatmeal every day?!?!?! I AM actually having oatmeal tomorrow (I think I’ve said this everyday) but I picked up some microwave (lame I know) and Justin’s Almond Butter for a quick, at-work b-fast. So not creative…. :(

Angharad November 12, 2009 at 10:27 am

I had no idea S Club 7 and B*Witched were popular here! I saw the latter live at Party in the Park when I was 14. Stellar. I think they might be getting back together?

I am well into crumbs as well. I cannot believe someone drag raced in between you! That is so flipping scary! Okay, I’m off to listen to your voice mail! xx

Therese November 12, 2009 at 10:29 am

Ahhh loved S club 7!!!

Although I am partial to Eden’s Crush thank you very much…”Get over yourself, goodbye!”

I was the complete opposite of you as a child. I would walk up to adults at parties and have full on conversations with them. No fear in this girl!

brandi November 12, 2009 at 10:36 am

ah S Club 7!!! Loved them :)

you have the same birthday as my sister and my brother-in-law!

K November 12, 2009 at 11:06 am

S Club!! Not only did I listen to their music but I also watched their show on ABC Family :) Thanks for the shout out, sugarplum (get it? Christmas = Holly = Sugar Plum fairy?!).

In regards to your 6th grade picture: Only a true friend would allow that! What an awkward time in life!!

Jenna November 12, 2009 at 12:30 pm

I love these lists of questions!

(8) Your dream/goal? To own a cooking school. Farrr fetched, but true.

Peanut Butter Bliss November 12, 2009 at 4:48 pm

aww I think that is so cool that you were supposed to be born on christmas so you were named holly!

I better the butternut squash tasted great in your oats!

April November 12, 2009 at 9:03 pm

Aww that’s so neat about your name! Get this.. my name is April and I’m born on Christmas day! LOL

Ruthie November 12, 2009 at 9:56 pm

I did the butternut squash oats but was out of milk so I used water and some of my French Vanilla Sugar free creamer, peanut butter, cinnamon (not so good), vanilla, salt (I am tired from just writing all that stuff) and then I added protein.

I think I will like it better with the mild and minus the cinnamon. (let you know)

Last time I cried? Today
Last time I laughed? Now

Thanks for the shout out! peace and lovvvveee

Megan November 13, 2009 at 12:47 am
