This is going to be short and sweet, mostly because I am slightly tipsy. More on that in a bit.

I started the day off with a lovely 25-minute Yoga for Runners podcast from YogaDownload.  It helped my granny joints loosen up and get ready for the day, for sure.

Breakfast this morning was a healthy, delicious recipe I haven’t had in far too long: OVERNIGHT OATS! I mixed together 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/2 cup organic skim milk + 1/3 cup Fage 2% Greek yog last night.  This morning, I added vanilla stevia drops, cinnamon, 1 tbsp. shredded coconut, 1 sliced naner and a lovely drizzle of almond butter.

Along with two cups of coffee, it was perfection.

Two weekends ago (when the ‘rents were in town), I picked up this lovely at Whole Foods…

…which I enjoyed this morning with some Wisconsin Cheese!

This was a spicy, tasty snack full of both protein + carbohydrates.  Perfect filling fuel.

After, I was still hungry (obvs) and downed this Larabar

The rest of the afternoon was filled with work, carrots, an orange, some trail mix, more work and salsa class.  After learning how to dip it low with Doug (the 60-year-old with two artificial hips), I hit up Chipotle for some classic vegetarian love…

That would be my standard vegetarian burrito bol: rice, black beans, fajita veggies, mild salsa (a.k.a. tomatoes), lettuce and guacamole.  It could also be called perfection.

Then, after Spanish class, guess where I went?

Out to drinks with Mr. Lawyer (who I told I had a food blog and he agreed I needed a code name for him)…little does he know, he already has one.  Good thing I didn’t tell him my blog address :).

Two hefty-sized beers, some popcorn and peanuts later, I am slightly tipsy and blogging drogging.

I want to hate him; I want to like him; I want to wring his neck; I want to hug him. Ugh, is this what they call chemistry? I don’t know.  Like I said, I’ve been out of the dating game for YEARS.

All I know, is that in 2 1/2 weeks when he gets back from a business trip, we have a foodie date planned.  Hope for the best, expect the worst, right?

With that, I am going to brush my teeth, wash my face and pass out go to sleep.

Are you single, currently dating someone or married? Spill the deets!

If this foodie date does indeed happen, what should I make? Recipes welcome!

oh god lawyer dude sounds like such a dime piece. Score a pic of him for me, chica!

in a relationship with a gingahbread mayne. Lucky me. and with you — cause we’re married, remember?

BroccoliHut February 24, 2010 at 5:45 pm

Whoa–Barbara’s makes snack mix?? Life changing news for me.
SO glad to hear the date went well! We all want full deets after the foodie date.
I’m currently dating my first boyfriend–’tis an adventure, for sure.

I dunno. When I took Chemistry class, there were a lot of things that smelled bad and one explosion.

I’m married and have a teenaged kid. Have mercy on me.

As for the foodie date, start with wine.

Those overnight oats are looking so good ;) And that snack!! I need more savory snack ideas and that sounds delicious. I fear that my sweet tooth does not do anything for my skin :\ This is sad. My mom actually advised that I abstain from chocolate for a week (so that my skin clears up for the fashion show). Actually I bet listening to me agreeing to give up chocolate for a week on the phone must’ve been funny to someone else hahaha. ANYWAYYYY, you should just go with the flow of things with Mr. Lawyer :)

I’m totally single!! Although I would like a snuggle buddy, but atleast I’ve got Matilda, right?

Oh goshh.. this second question is a tough one. I have a few recipes in mind–if you’re interested let me know!!

VERY exciting stuff w/ Mr. Lawyer! Lol, sounds like chemistry to me! And that Wisconsin cheese looks like something I could eat from now until forever and die a happy old woman.

i LOVE that you blogged tipsy and had a good date! nothing compares to those great first date endorphins. i’ve been dating a very nice guy for four months. for our first cooking venture together, we made black bean and sweet potato enchiladas. ooooooo! i am excited to read about how this goes.

I’ve been dating the most wonderful guy for over a year now, and he’s an amazing cook….which, luckily I didn’t know until after I cooked for him the first time b/c I would have been really nervous. But for the first meal I made for him, it was Chicken Satay!

Susan February 25, 2010 at 7:33 am

Ohmygosh! We are totally on the same page! First, my bowl of oatmeal looked EXACTLY like that this morning, second, I asked the same question in my blog last night! Great minds :D

SO awesome you hit it off with Mr. Lawyer!! I love that “new relationship” feeling. I am very happily single right now. I’m in a place now after two back-to-back long-term relationships (7 years worth), I don’t even want to think about boys. I just want to do what I want to do and if the right one crosses my path, I’ll go with it!

I say make something fun and “active.” Like tapas, or a dipping thing, or fondue. That way you can sort of “participate” in dinner together instead of just shoving food down your pie hole between sentences :P

Oh so exciting! No advice from me RE food to make…except stay away from too much garlic! Sounds like it went well :D

Pretty sure I am going to be single for-freaking-ever.

Whitney February 25, 2010 at 7:57 pm

hahaha I love your blog. I am horrible with boy advice I am so lame with the dating game. I have never really had to do it before because I was in a long term relationship for 3 years of my life.

I am in the same boat as you. Its horrible. I’m very excited for you though!! The game is bitter sweet but in the end I think it will be worth it :)

“I want to hate him; I want to like him; I want to wring his neck; I want to hug him. Ugh, is this what they call chemistry?”

I’ve been married for 6.5 years, with my husband for 11 years+. I was GREAT at dating ;) and when I met my husband I thought “He’s nice,” but there were 8000 reasons why I would never marry someone like him. First one I was totally wrong about! He’s the only person I can stand 24 hours a day (and, yes, sometimes I want to wring his neck).

Can’t wait to hear about your foodie date!
