five in five

in randomness,top 5

It’s amazing what a total of 21 1/2 hours of sleep over the course of the past two nights has done for my overwhelmed self. I’m calmer. I’m happier. I’m feeling much less likely to pull a Britney and shave my hair off in an act of “I’ve-lost-it-all-including-my-mind” insanity.

I still have lots on my plate but I feel much more prepared to just sit down, organize my life + take it all on.

Bring. It On.

To counterbalance yesterday’s post, let’s give another round of five in five for some much-needed fun.

five of my favorite non-food blogs

the five best things I ate this week

  • the same lovely breakfast snackplate I ate three days in a row <- Berry Oatmeal Scone, egg w/ nutritional yeast + banana drizzled in almond butter
  • a Great Dane Pub Dane Burger <- topped with spinach artichoke dip {!!!}
  • the most perfectly juicy orange
  • this salad
  • a Pecan Bar <- it was the best one I’ve EVER had

five things on my to-do list

  • pay the bills
  • clean my apartment <- before Megan + Amy come today to visit {!!!}
  • start a freelance writing assignment
  • call LOTS of family + friends <- I’m embarrassingly a bit out of touch right now
  • cheer for the Green Bay Packers in the Super Bowl tomorrow, because I live in Wisconsin and would be perhaps crucified if I didn’t

yep, our Capitol glows green + gold.

five recipes I’m dying to make

five words of weekend wisdom

  • “Our best decisions, the ones that we never regret, come from listening to ourselves.” – Felicity
  • “My philosophy is that not only are you responsible for your life but doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment.” – Oprah
  • “When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time the tide will turn.” – Harriet Beacher Stowe
  • “I try not to break the rules but merely test their elasticity.”
  • “In 3 words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on.” – Robert Frost

Pick a list from above and give me FIVE things. Your turn, and go!
