Foodbuzz Fest, day two (part three)

I could learn to be classy.

I am going to be completely honest with you when I say classiness does not come naturally to me. I spill on myself at every meal. My voice has no volume control, even at funerals. Sometimes I booty dance in the middle of my office to Rihanna’s “Rude Boy.” And yes, I often wear the same outfit two days in a row.

In other words, I am more klassy than classy.

However, if learning to eat properly, talk quietly, stay seated and change my clothes everyday is going to lead to more nights like this, I’m in.

On Saturday night, Foodbuzz held the gala dinner, the premier event of the entire blogger’s festival, at San Francisco’s most gorgeous venue: the Ferry Building.

Upon arriving, I was immediately welcomed with the finest of California wine.

Two glasses of Pinot Grigio to be exact.

It’s a good thing I wasn’t alone in my wine drinking, otherwise I may have started to feel like a bit of a lush this weekend.

Mama Pea, Susan, moi, Janetha, Meghann, Elise, Brittany, Marci + Cara.

Luckily, Foodbuzz was gracious enough to provide appetizers so my rapid consumption of alcohol did not happen on an empty stomach, because that’s NEVER a good idea.

Yes, I speak from experience.

There were polenta with goat cheese bites (above) as well as roast beef-wrapped scallions (below), both of which were the perfect antidote to dinner…

I kept it classy with one of each.

Finally, it was time for the grand gala meal…

Excitement brewed in the veins of food bloggers throughout the room.

Taking our seats before the gorgeously set tables, I noticed there was not one, not two, but FOUR wine glasses in front of me. It was then I knew I was in for a good dinner.

ABSOLUTE PERFECTION.

I don’t even know if I could pick a favorite, but I can feel you readers pressuring me to make a decision, so here it is: the scallops, and the wine that came along with it.

Perfectly cooked. Perfectly paired. Perfectly delicious in my stomach.

And if you ever wondered what us bloggers look like when taking pictures of our food, this is it…

We take our work very seriously.

But we enjoy it, so it’s all good.

Gabriela, Danica, Melissa, Janetha + Monica.

If you need further proof on exactly how much we enjoy food blogging and the perks that come along with it, take a look at this picture:

Does it get any better than gnawing on a rack of lamb at a food festival in San Francisco?

I think not.

So, maybe I didn’t keep it as classy as I thought I did Saturday night…

But at least I stayed seated, AND I wore clean clothes.

I drank so much of that wine. So awkward. I kept singing, “The Club Can’t Even Handle Me Right Now” to our waiter. I don’t think he was a fan. But he did pour me extra wine. So I kept it KLASSY too.

I love the gnawing on the lamb picture. Too good!

Apparently my camouflage dress kept me from being identified in that group photo. (ROFL)

i’m not even “klassy”. Im what I like to call “jewish white trash”. I relish everything edible that is given for free. i had a pair of reef flip flops in my purse that night and busted them out within half an hour.
And there was no chance in hell they were going to get me to do that scavenger hunt.

I love this blog, so wonderful and you describe things so well. I totally understand Klassy as opposed to Classy. I would sign up for a Klassy night out any time! Looks like you had a great time!

The food can be crap as long as their good, plentiful wine (or so say I)!

there is too much to comment on here, but i’d have to say the prize for best picture ever (like, ever), goes to the “excitement brews” dinnertableGRAWWWR shot. i flippin’ love it.

but it’s better to be kLa$$i3 (<–classy spelled klassy, obvi.) and real, than classy and fakin' it.

so wear your food stains with pride and in loving memory of the meal that not only graced your lips, but your chest as well, and don't be afraid to toot it and boot it to rihanna! :D

Hahah – love it! I am forever spilling on myself. I’m having dinner at Nobu tonight (fancy schmancy in NYC) and I’m terrified I’ll either drop my utensils (been known to do it), drop food on my outfit or something worse. Gotta keep it together!

Haha, and you looked nice in your clean clothes! Well done, indeed.
