Happy Day

I am in an extremely happy mood today.

Maybe it’s because we are already racking up donations to help out Jovenes en Camino.

Maybe it’s because I ate Mama E’s famous apple crisp atop Greek yogurt for three days in a row.

Maybe it’s because one of my best friends got engaged this past week and another announced her November 2011 wedding to her British boyfriend in LONDON, ENGLAND, which I am obviously going to attend with the most obnoxious wedding hat I can find.

Maybe it’s because I wore my new favorite $13.49 mustard yellow corduroys from Old Navy to work today complete with a sailor-inspired white + blue striped shirt and purple ballet flats.

Maybe it’s because I got to go out to dinner with Daddy E on Saturday night and order the most delicious dish of pan-seared scallops over wild mushrooms, pan-fried gnocchi and spinach chips. That’s not including the red wine or the two desserts we shared. Aren’t dads the best?

Maybe it’s because even though I can’t afford it, I am going to go to a fancy schmancy hair salon tomorrow and give myself bold new locks. I’m going all blonde or all auburn. Only time will tell.

Maybe it’s because unlike my parent’s house, there is no snow on the ground in Madison.

Maybe it’s because Mama E makes the best veggie scrambles and made me one before I left to come back to Madison yesterday. Aren’t moms also the best?

Maybe it’s because I am currently eating the rest of the leftover stuffing from Thanksgiving.

Maybe it’s because I wore make-up for the first time today in three months (no, I did not magically get a date just because I slathered on a light coating of cosmetics, Mom).

Or maybe it’s because this is my blog, and I can give things away if I want to.

As part of a food promotion I am featuring on the blog soon, I was sent this Flip UltraHD Video Cam. It’s light, sleek, has 4GB of memory, one hour of recording time and retails at $149.99.

The only thing is…I already have one.

Yeah, mine’s a bit of an older model, but it still works fantastically. So, thanks to my happy, generous mood, I am going to give this one away to ONE LUCKY READER!!!

Here’s what you gotta do:

  1. Leave me a comment telling me one thing that made YOU happy today.
  2. If you make a donation to Jovenes en Camino as part of the fundraiser Brandi + I are putting together this Christmas, you will win TEN extra entries. Yes, 10. I told you I was feeling generous. If you donate, simply leave a 2nd comment letting me know you did, and I’ll put those extra entries in for you.

That’s it!

I’ll announce a winner in Thursday night’s post.

Happy day to you all :)

Your latest blog post made me incredibly happy! I just thought about all of the amazing places I’ve visited and the incredible people I’ve met along the way. =) Seriously, I am sitting at work, avoiding work, and researching the next big adventure!

If you wanted a less sappy response, the seasonal peppermint bark Hershey’s kisses that are residing on the front desk have made me happy every 15 minutes I walk by and take one!

Jamie December 1, 2010 at 1:30 pm

What you and Brandi are doing is inspiring, way to go! Just donated =)

Kailey (SnackFace) December 2, 2010 at 6:38 pm

MY LOVE! This giveaway is ridiculous! AND I MISS YOU! But back to the giveaway. I want. I need. I have to have. Am I being a greedy greedy gumdrop by admitting that? Yes. But oh well. I’ll comment again when I donate, but I honestly have to wait until my paycheck comes through before I donate. You know I will though!

Things that made me happy today: being busy, productive, laughing with new friends. Loooove
