happy weekend!

in links i love

This week was seriously the longest. week. ever. However, because one shall always look at the glass half-full, it is important to note this week also proved to be overflowing with inspiring things – from food articles to must-have-in-my-mouth-now recipes to lovely life reminders, I bookmarked so many websites this week.

Here are some links I loved reading on the web this week:

Ruth Reichl. How to make better hummus. Need I say more?

An excellent post on DesignSponge on escaping the comparison trap. (Hint, hint: BE YOURSELF)

Spring-y Spring Rolls with Carrot Ginger Miso Sauce. Happyolks does it again!

Amanda Hesser’s honest advice to aspiring food writers. Realistic AND inspiring.

Ramps are in-season and back at the farmer’s market! Saveur’s gorgeous suggestions forĀ cooking with these garlicky wild leeks.

50 Ways to Nurture Your Happiness…what are you waiting for? Go get started!

I just can’t get enough of #whatshouldwecallme. It’s the funniest website…perhaps ever.

Happy weekend friends!

P.S. I also plan on making these Cornmeal Quinoa Black Bean Patties this weekend. SO good!

I love Ruth Reichl, but Imma have to call BS on that “peel your chickpeas” thing. Not that peeling your chickpeas doesn’t make an almost stupidly creamy hummus, but nobody should waste the time it takes to peel a whole mess of chickpeas. It is so annoying. She downplays how annoying it is, but don’t be fooled. I was fooled once! I was fooled by ALICE WATERS, of all people, when she said to peel the chickpeas! Can you tell I took it really hard, this thing about peeling chickpeas??

Okay. I feel a lot better now. Thanks for that.

Also: That photo is kind of incredible. Look at that mustard! And the colors! I am inexplicably excitable today!

Great links! I always have a problem with bookmarking oodles of things to read, and not having enough time to get them all. I suppose that’s a good problem to have.

Also, that photo is gorgeous! Food is just gorgeous, isn’t it? (Well, unless it’s Indian, but it’s delicious enough to make up for it’s unattractive features).
