I Like Food

I like food.

And yes, that includes salads.

As much as I like my greens, they usually need to be accompanied by something else.

Like eggs. I like eggs.

I really like runny eggs.

But more than runny eggs, I probably like ice cream more.

Frozen yogurt isn’t technically ice cream, but I still like it.

I didn’t think I liked Milwaukee, but it’s growing on me.

I like Milwaukee more now that I’ve discovered Transfer Pizzeria + Cafe.

I also like pizza.

But I like the crust more, especially when its ooey gooey and doughy.

I like Margherita pizza, because it’s a classic. I like Roasted Potato and Chicken Pizza with garlic cream sauce, because it’s unique.

I like pizza so much, I had 3 1/2 pieces.

Even though the ballet doesn’t serve food, I still like it.

I especially like it because I kinda sorta know Peter Pan through a friend of a friend type thing.

I like going to the theater.

I like the fact ballerinas can spin really fast, but I don’t like that there aren’t any words.

Maybe it’s because I am too wordy and secretly, I like that?

I like that Kopp’s Frozen Custard doesn’t really close at 11pm even though it says so on its website.

I also like the fact they sell Smile Sundaes that are the size of your head. More so, I like the fact that Smile Sundaes are just a much better version of a Dairy Queen Peanut Buster Parfait.

I also also like the fact I have ice cream on my face in this picture.

I think you know this, but I like coffee.

I especially like coffee accompanied by a sliced banana, cinnamon + peanut butter on a lazy Sunday morning.

I like proving myself wrong and checking off my to-do lists.

As much as I like those two things, I still like yog messes more.

I can’t decide if I like yog messes or cinnamon the most.

I will get back to you.

I happen to like POM mocktails.

I also like serving them in fancy glasses and pretending I am in Europe at a chic sidewalk cafe.

I like Europe. A lot.

I like when fabulous bloggers send you amazing Christmas gifts that you forget about until five months later when you finally decide to use that gift and whip up an amazing batch of Dark Chocolate Muffins.

I like that when you don’t have chocolate almond milk, egg whites or pumpkin on hand; you can use regular organic skim milk, two whole eggs and applesauce.

I like reusing paper grocery bags.

I really like dark chocolate + peanut butter together.

I also like jelly, which is why I ate a 2nd muffin topped with strawberry preserves.

I like balls – specifically Flax-Encrusted Sweet Potato Balls.

I like mustard.  I think I like it so much, it may be my favorite condiment.

Ranch dressing is good, but I still like mustard more.

I like roasted broccoli.

I also like roasted broccoli paired with spaghetti.

I like friends. Especially friends that will feed you homemade banana bread, won’t judge you for wanting to watch the Miss USA Pageant and make you feel oh-so-much better when you are a blubbering mess.

I really do like all these things.

But most of all, I still really like food.

Coco @ Opera Girl Cooks May 16, 2010 at 10:09 pm

I like lots of those things too, girl! Especially sparkly pom drinks. Yum!

janetha May 16, 2010 at 10:13 pm

i like EVERYTHING in this post.

runny eggs, ice cream, fro yo, fro cust, salads, yog messes, protein muffins, mustard, your face (ice creamed up and all).. give it to me. all of it. now.

Andrea@WellnessNotes May 16, 2010 at 10:15 pm

Hey, you and I like the same foods! But I think I actually like runny eggs more than ice cream… Weird, I know. Runny is the only way I can eat eggs because of my gallstones (apparently there is something in runny egg yolks that makes them easier digestible and therefore they won’t upset my gallstones, in case you were interested…).

Enjoy your friends, the banana bread, & the Miss USA Pageant! :)

Madeline - Greens and Jeans May 16, 2010 at 10:21 pm

Guess what? I get to see YOU this week! And I like that. A lot.

Katie May 16, 2010 at 10:51 pm

You saw Peter Pan… in ballet form?! Was it awesome? The Mary Martin version makes me so happy. As does visions of your pizza. And your trip. Glad you had a swell weekend, chickadee :-)

sophia May 16, 2010 at 11:56 pm

I like YOU. For eating real food. And loving real runny eggs, not egg whites in a carton. :-)

claire May 17, 2010 at 12:24 am

Wow, sounds like a great weekend to me. I love Peter Pan and can’t imagine it as a ballet either… amazing. The eats look delicious as usual. Love the photo of you with the ice cream…dangerous stuff.

Laura May 17, 2010 at 12:50 am

I like this post! But sadly Janetha already beat me to saying it. I more than like food though, I adore it :)

Jessica @ How Sweet It Is May 17, 2010 at 5:35 am

Lauren May 17, 2010 at 5:44 am

Maya May 17, 2010 at 6:21 am

Erica May 17, 2010 at 6:26 am

Looks like one kick butt weekend. So many good eats. Um froyo…heaven <3. And that frozen custard looks amazing too- I've never heard of anything like that. I'm headed over to foods of april now to look for that muffin recipe. Oh and I really love food too :)

Whit May 17, 2010 at 7:15 am

I like YOU.

Rae May 17, 2010 at 7:46 am

I love mustard too. I could dip into the entire bottle- probably finish it off right then and there. Remember: Practice Safe Food Eating, Use Condiments!

Ilana May 17, 2010 at 7:55 am

Katie May 17, 2010 at 8:02 am

I Like you and that you are real and live it up!!!!!!!

Susan May 17, 2010 at 8:26 am

Runny eggs are quite possibly the most appetizing thing EVER. Especially over top some hot carbs ;) Mustard is also slowly becoming my favourite condiment. And a Peter Pan ballet sounds fabulous!

I need to make a Banff list. Or a list of my lists. I am getting SO excited!!

Angharad May 17, 2010 at 8:40 am

Yeah, food is pretty great, isn’t it? You went to milwaukee this weekend?! Fun! Dan and I are talking about biking to Milwaukee this summer. That’s what I said. Biking there.
Runny eggs are my best friend, I’ve been putting them with everything recently. Anything that resembles a side dish – throw an egg on top and you have yourself a meal!

hbobier May 17, 2010 at 8:45 am

I love your writing style in this post!! Makes Monday morning more enjoyable.

samantha May 17, 2010 at 9:39 am

But really…I LOOOOOOOOVE you :D

April May 17, 2010 at 11:21 am

Hahahaha I was wondering about those muffins!! I hope you liked them!

And I must tell you- you totally have me craving ice cream. Especially a Dairy Queen Georgia Mud Fudge Blizzard. Have you ever had one of those? the best!!!

Jenna May 17, 2010 at 11:57 am

I totally got suckered into the pagent, too! They seriously get me every time. I don’t even know why I love them so much. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised since I do love reality TV a lot. *cough* The Bachelor, The Hills… etc….

Sarah (Running to Slow Things Down) May 17, 2010 at 12:21 pm

I like that you like many of my favorite foods. You totally have me addicted to runny, gooey eggs. And icecream? Yes…pure love. :D

Kristin (Salty Tooth) May 17, 2010 at 12:51 pm

Milwaukee is a great town…granted I may be a little biased as it’s where I live! Glad you are starting to enjoy it. Transfer is also great and dangerously addictive!

Kacy May 17, 2010 at 12:59 pm

Um, you’re adorable. I like you. I like this post. I like food.

I don’t like that I probably won’t be able to meet your gorgeous face at the HLS. I have about 55 birthdays to celebrate in August and I know if I leave town I’ll be hurting someone’s feelings. Sigh…

Jessica May 17, 2010 at 1:04 pm

Okay. Most delicious post i’ve READ in weeks. Seriously!

I could totally go for a big ol’ bowl of noodles with tomato sauce and roasted broccoli right now, or a yogurt mess, some pizza (i’m on some pizza kick and have been having it like crayy lately–love you amy’s, and love you fancy restaurants with your amazing fancy pizzas), or bananas, peanut butter….but you must tell me how the flax-encrusted sweet p balls were! I’ve been meaning to make thosee!!

Love you, you hot thang (your skin is gorg!). Let’s catch up soon! xoxox

Emily (A Nutritionist Eats) May 17, 2010 at 2:12 pm

Love the weekend recap! Hope all is well girl! xoxo

Alix May 17, 2010 at 3:03 pm

That pizza looks amazing!!!

chocolatepickle May 17, 2010 at 3:21 pm

GAHHH! I am a DIE HARD Kopps enthusiast….I have frequented there since 1999:) And Transfer is a great addition to MKE too…..the owners are opening another similar restaurant on the East Side of Milwaukee this summer! Looks like you had a great time in Milwaukee…..I don’t LOVE it, but it’s my home now so I’m learning to like it:)

Dawn (HealthySDLiving) May 17, 2010 at 4:05 pm

I pretty much love EVERYTHING in this post–especially runny eggs!

Faith May 17, 2010 at 5:18 pm

I love this post. I now have a serious craving for some ice cream (I’m totally thinking DQ!). :)

Alex @ IEatAsphalt May 17, 2010 at 6:36 pm

Frozen yogurt with fresh berries and pizza are probably my two favorite foods. Such a good use for paper bags! Mine usually contain recycling.

jperonto May 17, 2010 at 6:36 pm

OMG! I went to milwaukee my past trip to wisconsin and went to kopps too! O… M… G… best custard EVER. I had the flavor of the day and it was caramel cashew. *drools*

Love this post!

Kate May 17, 2010 at 6:53 pm

my mom took me to the st petersburg ballet version of the nutcracker ages ago. first ballet expereince for the both of us. she asked the usher if we’d be able to understand it since it was in russian. he kindly explained that there were no words :)

Ariffa May 17, 2010 at 8:42 pm

I like this post. =))

Katie May 18, 2010 at 8:36 am

I like you (even know that’s probably been said 15 times in this comment section, it still holds true). I also really wish I had that head-sized sundae for breakfast right now. That’s right, I like dessert for breakfast. I’ve also been meaning to try those balls…they look so fantastic.

Evan Thomas May 18, 2010 at 7:24 pm

courtney May 19, 2010 at 3:26 pm
