I Ran, I Slept, I Called

I ran.

Four miles OUTSIDE to be exact, which would make it my first real run in probably 3 months.  And it felt GOOD.  No burning lungs involved.

I slept.

While watching Away We Go (with my future husband, John Krasinski), I fell asleep…at 8:45pm.  I woke up at midnight to a dead computer, lights on in the apartment and my glasses still on.  I shut my computer, turned off the lights and took off the glasses before continuing to sleep until 6:45 this morning. Total # of hours of shut eye: 10.

I yoatgurted.

The best way I know how…with strawberries!

1/2 cup oats + 1 cup water + vanilla stevia drops + cinnamon
1/2 cup Fage 2% Greek yog
1/2 cup defrosted strawberries
drizzle of almond butter

I ingested antioxidants.

In the form of Starbucks’ new Orange Blossom loose-leaf Green Tea.  Along with a naner + honey AB, twas’ quite a lovely, filling morning snack.

I worked.

Nothing like a Monday to show you how much work you actually have to accomplish by Friday.

I lunched.

Lunch for me is time for a mini kick-it.  I take about 30 minutes just to chill.  Even if I take working lunches (which I do most days I bring food), I catch up some blog reading, send some e-mails and just take a much-needed brain break.  Like today, I read all your lovely comments while snarfing slowly eating Amy’s Lentil Vegetable soup, stoneground whole wheat crackers and an orange.

I did not resist.

My co-worker Natalie was in NYC this past weekend and brought back CRUMBS’ MINI CUPCAKES!  To this, you never resist.  You merely say thank you and then proceed to fill your plate with 1/2 mint chocolate cupcake, 1/2 Ho-Ho cupcake (at least that’s what it tasted like), 1/2 coconut cupcake and 1/2 strawberry cupcake.

I spun.

At an almost 70-minute long spin class by Sergeant Deb.  She worked us hard. And yes, TWSS.  We did 9-minute intervals with 1-minute rests in between.  It was a mix of speedwork, hills, rolling hills and distance cycling.  Man, my legs are DEAD.

I devoured.

Because that’s what you do when you have just burned more than 600 calories and are starving.  You find the quickest meal possible and just…devour.

3 Gardein Crispy Tenders
2 carrots
2 oz. Cranberry Chipotle Cheddar Cheese
BBQ sauce

I savored.

A serving (and a half?) of Coconut Bliss in Dark Chocolate while writing this post.  And yes, there was a lovely drizzle of nut butter on top.

I called.

After receiving Matt’s comment, I was going to call Mr. Lawyer last night (but we all know someone fell asleep!).  He said something that made me laugh and realize how silly it was to be nervous…

“Lol you aren’t in high school anymore ;) Call him when you have some time!”

Yes, thank the sweet heavens I’m not in high school anymore.  So, I called while walking home from spin class tonight.  And guess what ensued? PHONE TAG.  However, between the multiple voicemail messages left between us, there was some enjoyable, witty banter.  That’s a good start in my book.

I showered.

That is hopefully going to happen as soon as I hit ‘Publish.’  Then, it’s back to that movie.  Let’s hope the cycle doesn’t start itself over tonight.

Witty banter sounds like a fantastic start to me! Your oats look phenomenal…now I know what I’m having for breakfast tomorrow! :) And oh my goodness…hoho cupcakes?! I need one.

ack, phone tag — no bueno! though I’m sure he’s just “missing your calls” so he can save your voicemails and listen to your seksii voice ;) hellz, I would! (aka, call me)

YAY for calling the lawyer….phone tag or no phone tag! I have heard way too much about Crumbs cupcakes not to try them. I must get on this asap. Good job on the 70 min class – good grief! Do it girl!

Witty banter is a VERY good sign. Not to get my hopes up, or anything, I mean “your” hopes.
