It’s Okay to Drool

It’s okay to drool. ¬†Sometimes it happens while I’m sleeping and other times as I’m about to take my first bite of this…

2 Cream of Wheat packets
1 1/3 cups water
1/2 cup pumpkin
1 small smashed naner
drizzle of real maple syrup
1 tbsp. dark choco chips
spoonful of PB

It’s also okay to eat a bar for a meal. But only if it’s a good one, and only if it’s not everyday.

Check and check.

It’s okay to have a Starbucks Grande Nonfat Misto with 2 pumps of chai for the 3rd day in a row even though you are trying to stick to a budget and stop miscellaneous spending. Right?

It’s okay to clean out your fridge and concoct rando veggieful dinners.

3 kale leaves
1/2 zucchini
1/4 onion
1 Roma tomato
EVOO + salt + garlic powder
Food Should Taste Good Potato Chive chips

FSTG Potato Chive chips?  Delectable.

It’s okay to play with your food. What kind of yog mess would be complete without it?

Chobani Plain Greek yog
1 small smashed naner
handful Kashi Heart2Heart Cereal
1 spoonful PB&Co. Cinnamon Raisin Swirl

It’s okay to call Deb from Smitten Kitchen a genius. She is. I present to you Carrot Cupcakes with Maple-Cream Cheese Frosting

It’s okay to add your own personal touches before having a photoshoot with your newly baked creations.

It’s okay to eat one of your own creations AND lick the bowl of leftover frosting. Even if the rest of the cupcakes need to be saved for your co-worker’s bachelorette party this weekend, you deserve at least one.

It’s okay to leave the dishes a bit dirty while talking to your favorite Brit (and person in general). Know your priorities.

It’s okay to wake up and run 12 miles with the motivation of burning off the carrot cake batter + frosting you ate from the night before. Motivation is motivation in any form.

But don’t forget, most importantly, it’s still okay to drool.

Carrot cake is my absolute favorite cake flavor!! I usually like it with homemade cream cheese frosting. But, the maple frosting looks fabulous!

Sophia September 18, 2009 at 11:22 pm

Hope you have a marvelous run!! :D

Good to know because I am sooooo drooling over those carrot cupcakes right now. Maple cream cheese frosting?? My goodness.

Thanks for the cream of wheat info! That’s totally being added to my grocery list! I love anything warm and creamy in the a.m. :)

Abby September 19, 2009 at 7:21 am

I completely agree with everything–especially the girly garnish on the cupcakes. They deserve to feel pretty, too, no?

I will not be running 12 miles at any point in my weekend (and by weekend, I mean life) but good luck! Just think, it’s a heck of a lot shorter than an unexpected 22!

Food Makes Fun Fuel September 19, 2009 at 8:51 am

I’m a fan of that breakfast, but oddly I don’t think I’ve ever had cream of wheat.
And thank you for bringing that recipe into my life, and, eventually, into my stomach. I will now go praise the blogger who made it

Christina September 19, 2009 at 9:13 am

hope your run went well today ;)

Coco September 19, 2009 at 9:23 am

My God! I’m drooling over everything you’ve eaten hahah. That cream of wheat looks beyond scrumptious. I’ve never had cream of wheat. is it like oat bran? Those cupcakes look amazing as well! Carrot cake is my fav! Hope you had a great run!

K September 19, 2009 at 9:25 am

I’ve never had cream of wheat but that bowl looks ridiculously delicious. It’s okay to eat carrot cake any DAMN time – yum!! Those cupcakes are gorgeous!

Have a great Saturday!

Brooke September 19, 2009 at 9:26 am

This was indeed a very wonderful poem, my friend. I never eat oats but have had such a craving this past week to make fatty bowls of oats + PB with banana since I now like bananas. (I NEVER used to eat them until like 3 months ago). So today I shall think of you as I skidaddle to the store and get some oatylove.

Loooves u!

Low September 19, 2009 at 10:26 am

Angharad (Eating for England) September 19, 2009 at 11:55 am

Hello my sweet. Had much fun talking to you last night – not sure how over an hour passed by…we are ramblers for sure. The cupcakes look as good as they sounded while you were shoving one down your throat on the phone. Grr. Jealousy is an ugly emotion.
So, I asked Dan what Cream of Wheat was and his response was “the poor man’s oatmeal”. hahahhaa sorry, but it made me laugh…is this true?

Love you big time girl xxx

Nicole September 19, 2009 at 12:02 pm
