Longest. Week. Ever.

Seriously dudes, it was a week of fails.  Cupcake fails.  Yoga fails.  Work fails.  Attitude fails.  However, when you’ve run into one too many fails, there is no place to go but back down the road of success. And I am starting today, ya heard?

After getting massive amounts of sleep sick yesterday (ahem, 12 hours+), I decided I felt good enough this morning for a run.  So, I headed out on a slow + steady 3 mile jog along the lake and came back feeling good.

Yes, a good run was exactly what the doctor ordered.  That and a delicious yog mess, for good measure.

1/2 cup nonfat Greek yog
1 small naner
1 tbsp. raspberry jelly
1 tbsp. almond buttah
1 tbsp. ground flax

This smaller than average brekkie obv necessitated an early mid-morning snack…

Then I caught up on work, resisted the mondo urge to read blogs + downed 2 cuppa joes with skim milk.

I actually brought my lunch, but the fact two co-workers were going to my favorite lil’ cafe…well, I couldn’t resist another junk salad + Sun Bun. All hail the Sun Bun!

I just found out I liked banana peppers after snubbing my nose at them one too many times in Subway. My apologies you brightly-colored pepper with a kick.  I love you after all.

But not as much as I love Peanut Butter M&Ms…don’t mess with a girl and her peanut butter chocolate delights.

At 4pm, I skedaddled from the FT (full-time) yob to the PT (part-time) yob.

You see, yes I am kinda crazy for making goal lists while sick in bed, having two jobs at once (three if you count freelance writing on the side) and overcommitting myself to too many things. I cannot complain however. I bring it upon myself.  I find I thrive on being busy.  Maybe it helps me forget about my lack of a love life or the fact I am really poor…hmmm, just a thought…

Mid-shift, I crawled to the back stock room and downed this Tupperware of goodness…

That would be some mixed veggies + BBQ tofu + brown rice.

I also got paid today, which makes overcommitting yourself easier when you see the dolla dolla bills in your bank account. Random afterthought.

Now, I am at home, sipping on apple cinnamon tea and rejoicing the fact I don’t have to work at all tomorrow.  Shopping? Perhaps. Sleeping in?  You bet. Getting my last yoga + cardio sesh checked off for the week?  You know it!

I am the same way, I always seem to be biting off more than I can chew just because I like to be busy and productive! It just speaks to what an awesome person you are – you’re motivated and energetic, and sometimes it can be a tad overwhelming! I like to think even the Energizer Bunny loses a little steam every now and then. ;-)

On another note – peanut butter m&m’s?! I need these immediately!

Plans for this weekend is to finish my essays! Which will never happen! But fingers crossed for me please?

I hope you feel better. When so many fails happen, it’s the best just to get over it and start from scratch. Longer sleeping and a run sounds like a great start of success :)

12 hours of sleep? I am jealous- that sounds like heaven. Glad you got in a nice run too. I always like to see your “junk” salads (although they should probably be called the anti-junk because everything is so good for you!). I’m getting ready to go teach step/pump then Josh and I are going hiking! Tonight=dinner with friends. Tomorrow=football

Oh Holly, you can never fail with cupcakes. Just put enough frosting on them and you can disguise anything :) I have not had a salad bar in a long time. I think I need one. And I want your Sun Buns—that sounds dirty! Ha ha!

Wow, well if YOU ever need to talk, let me know!! I’m glad you got paid! Yay! That always makes me feel better at least. ;) Please take some time to relax this weekend–ie. bubble bath? Then, get out and meet someone! Don’t you have any cute friends you want to date? Girl, get your groove on! haha, but really!

I ran 8 miles this morning, and I plan on chillin’ for the rest of weekend cleaning on and off, and working on my grad school paper. Not too interesting, but I’m baking vegan cookies so that will definitely make me happy! ;)

Woohoo, you’ve made it through!!!! Right now, you’re probably sleeping in, resting up for that last bossy cardio sesh. Love it.

OK, I have many things to say. The yogurt mess is absolutely gorgeous. I need more DCD in my life. The salad is garbanzo perfection, especially with that Sunbun that needs to be shipped to me. PB M+Ms!!!!!!!!!!!! And dinner is so healthy it makes me wish I’d learn to eat a proper dinner and be set for the night.

Starting of the day with a lovely run just makes my days better it seems. Glad you enjoyed it.

And even better that its the weeknd and you are getting paid. SHOPPING all the way girl. That’s my plan today. Hubby’s bonus went in the bank this week…..uh oh! ;)

Peanut butter m and m’s…holy moly those things are SO GOOD! I used to go through tons of those when I was younger.. thank goodness I had the metabolism!

Where did you find the pumpkin spice tea at? I can’t find it anywhere!

Good night’s sleep, lots of fresh air and a yogurt mess = perfect way to start the day. Totally hear you on overcomitting/being stressed but at the same time thriving under the pressure of commitments. Though it’s an easy way to burn out so watch it, lady or I’ll be flying over to be your personal assistant for a while (for free, except I might steal some of the Sun Bun).

No big plans this weekend- researching college classes to take in January. Need to do something with my life. Aaaaargh.

Longest week in recent history? Agreed. Ugh. Just be glad you’re feeling better, making moola and getting back on track. Little bump, not a roadblock!

As for me, I’m lame and fighting off getting sick, so lots of sleep, lots of laziness, lots more sleep and copious amounts of food (and this is different from other weekends how?)

Sorry about your fail week! :-( You did a fab job of jumping back into life with your goal list and your above day. Having 2 jobs sucks – I admire you for your work ethic, and I know just how exhausting it can be. But I’m with you on the “thrive amidst business” thing.

I am cleaning my house this weekend, that’s all I have planned. Thrilling, I know.

I certainly hear ya on the week of fails, though, judging by your eats today…it definitely looks more like success. Especially that junk salad! But yes, it was (without a doubt) one of those long, miserable weeks that leave you husked out come Friday.

Though I’m well into my weekend, I’ve enjoyed lazy movie night with the best bud and a random catch up with an old friend, a buddy run in Central Park, and drinks and conversation with more friends later today!

haha thanks for clarifying your acronyms. although.. i do think that typing them out defeats the purpose. abbreviation fail. sorry about the longest week ever and also sorry i took forever to come read about it. probably has something to do with the fact that i, too, had a longgg week. SO.. you don’t like pie or whip? sigh. YES we can still be friends.. we will just eat stuffing :)

i wont be telling you my weekend plans.. since it is tuesday..

but i will tell you that you make my heart bursttttttttt since i just love you!
