March, revisited.

Dearest blog of mine,

You’re the longest and best relationship I’ve ever had, so it’s only right I get something off my double-AA chest that I’ve been feeling a bit guilty about.

Sorry I’m not the least bit sorry for neglecting you in March.

It’s nothing personal…I swear! It’s just that between school and work and family and friends and marathon training and a boy toy and the unseasonably warm weather here in Wisconsin, you’ve ratcheted down the priority list as of late. A Doomtree concert…bootcamp classes…that pesky kidney infection…the 24-hour flu bug…bike riding…grill-outs…tot consuming…a weekend at home in Minnesota…these things overshadowed you this month.

Like any good relationship however, I think it’s actually benefitted both of us to have some time apart from one another.

Time to find balance.

Time to eat out at a lot of good restaurants and not cook much.

Time to Tweet, Facebook, Tumble AND Instagram my face off.

Time to get inspired.

Time to rejuvenate the food blogging batteries.

And that’s exactly what this month did for me! While I missed your stinking cute face, I find myself oozing with ideas and updates and blog posts and inspiration for the month to come.

So, let’s put this past month behind us and call a truce?

I’ll even throw in a peek at the double-AA goods…and I’m not talking batteries.

Oh, how we’ve missed you! :)

P.S. You and I are in dire need of a catch-up, lady friend.

I would totally forgive you if you’d sounded a LITTLE bit more repentant….

Then again, it’s not like I’m going to quit reading, gosh darn it, because I do love this blog. So I guess I’ll just have to pout for a while and then get over myself.

I have missed you!!! But then figured you were out of control busy with life, which is awesome. And you shouldn’t be sorry. At all.

I’m glad to see you’re back! I fell in love with your blog while you were away and am anxiously awaiting some more rockin’ posts. No pressure, though…

Mallory April 5, 2012 at 7:43 pm

Megan (Braise the Roof) April 6, 2012 at 1:04 pm

It must be something about March, I felt the exact same way this month. Glad you found some inspiration!

KaraHadley April 6, 2012 at 4:25 pm

Your life is cool. You’re cool. Will you share the tots? (And I’m not talking about the tater kind.)

Cheryl Boswell April 7, 2012 at 6:26 pm

That was really clever. Great work!

The magic of some time off and away can’t be overstated.

Hillary April 8, 2012 at 3:32 pm

You were living your life and enjoying it instead of blogging about it?
I forgive you.

Now get back here and post something witty and funny. Extra points if you’ve perfected that brownie pretzel goodness you were previously working on.
