May is our month.

May IS our month.

I know this girl agrees with me.  Who else is in?

Because from the lovely comments on my last post, I know some of y’all weren’t feeling the month of April either. Whether you were uber-bitchy a la Regina George (I was) or a lil’ crazy, crazy a la Tyra Banks (refer here if confused), we can all take solace in the fact it is May and the beginning of a a fresh, new month. And Kailey and I decided May IS our month to make things happen.

Why else would I be up at 5:35am on a Tuesday morning?

Gettin’. It. Done.

I also went to bed at 9:45pm last night, which was perhaps one of the best decisions I’ve made in awhile. I crawled in bed, watched an episode of The Office: UK Version and sunk into a deep, slumbering hey-did-I-die-last-night? sleep all before the clock struck 10:00pm.

But really, I am getting ahead of myself.

Yesterday started with the most delicious, thick and luscious bowl of Banana Overnight Oats ever. Bold statement, I know.

1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup TJ’s vanilla Greek yogurt
1/2 cup organic skim milk
1/2 T ground flax

~ soaked overnight ~

1 sliced banana
sprinkle of ground flax
sprinkle of Vanilla Almond Galaxy Granola
1 T almond butter (see below)

Admittedly, I am was slightly obsessed with this bowl of goodness.

New product alert! (for me, at least)

Only $3.99, which most of you probably know is amazingly cheap for a jar of almond butter.

Lunch came in two parts – the first being some dried apricots and a AB+J sandwich

…while the second included some prime running fuel: falafel salad (spinach, MP’s Vegan Falawesomes, cherry tomatoes + tzatziki), honey wheat pretzels + pickles.

Prime running fuel because after work, Brett + I laced up our sneaks for a 10-mile and 7-mile run (respectively)!  I hadn’t run in almost a week and was a bit nervous, as I never enjoy the feeling of my lungs incessantly burning with the bitter, unwanted taste of being out of running shape.

But the run ruled.

Minus the nauseousness I felt afterwards.  I mean, I literally had to FORCE myself to eat this plate…

That ain’t right. Baked beans + sweet potato = delicious combination.

And yes, that was a giant sweet potato (TWSS) and almost a whole can of baked beans.

Now, it is 6:09am, and my stomach is pulling a Regina George of her own and bitching telling me to eat breakfast. Let’s get this fourth day of May started people and make some fabulous things happen!

Although April ISSSSSSS my birthday month, it also was so old news…and now I’m old too, boo. So yay for may (even though it’s currently the 12th and nearly half-over) I’m in it to win it and can’t wait for all this positivity. It shall be contagious.. xoxo
