There are monumental times in a girl’s life that need to be recorded for the history books.

A lady (such as moi) will always remember the first time she beat the entire game of MarioKart on Nintendo 64, her first kiss, her worst kiss, the time she dropped her baby sister on the ground while simultaneously carrying her and rollerblading on the cement-floor basement, eating 3/4 of a sheet cake without vomiting as well as the time she ripped her pants doing a high kick at a friend’s surprise birthday party…just to name a few.

This weekend, I can proudly say I added a few to the list, including…

…raising $1,145.00 for the construction of a clean drinking water well in Cambodia! WE. DID. IT.  I needed $1000, and what did I get?  So much more than that.  Thank you all for your comments, donations, support, linkbacks, Tweets, shoutouts and everything.  I could NOT have done it without y’all!

If you still want to donate, click here.

…waking up on a Sunday morning with NOTHING to do for the first time in months. I cannot even begin to tell you how glorious this felt.

1/3 cup oats
2/3 cup organic skim milk
pinch of salt
1 smashed naner
1/2 cup frozen raspberries
drizzle of Xagave
almond butter
coffee w/ milk x2

…seeing three movies in two days at the movie theater…all by myself. Some of you commented you were scared or nervous to do this.  Don’t be.  It will be the most relaxing, peaceful two hours you’ve ever spent.  Movie chitchat will be a thang of the past.

…eating a snacky lil’ lunch while reading in bed, all in the comfort of my jammies. Again, I cannot remember the last time I did this.  I’ve had this book for more than three months, and I am just starting it now.  Overcommitment much, Holly?

…getting OFFICIALLY back in the workout game! After a sporadic couple of months at the gym, I have successfully done three days of yoga and two days of cardio (four if you count the two days I spent speedwalking the mall) this past week.

…beginning planning on my FIRST travel venture since teaching abroad in Thailand in 2008. I am so excited; I cannot even begin to explain.  However, the destination shall remain a secret until I iron out some more details…mu ha ha!  And this has nothing to do with this milestone, but dinner was more Spicy Thai Tempeh with Cashews over spiced brown rice.

…celebrating eating dinner at, I believe, the earliest time ever in my life (ahem, 4:45pm) with some Coconut Bliss + Double Chocolate Chip Cookie lovin’. Don’t make me repeat it.  Yes, I ate dinner at 4:45pm.

…signing up for both Spanish classes AND a Latin Dance/Salsa class, both starting at the end of January. My 2010 goals have nothing on me…not only will I’ll be studying Spanish but soaking up some culture as well – hopefully in the arms of a suave Argentinean love affair dance partner :).

What is one milestone you have accomplished lately?  Or, what is one milestone you hope to accomplish this week? Big or small…milestones are milestones!

oh my what a great day. I have never gone to the movies by myself. I’m a ninny

other than that, my biggest accomplishment as of late was running a whole whopping 5K on my tredmill Saturday.

I was supposed to just do 20 minutes per my c25K week 5 and after that I felt great so kept going. I did a few quick breaks but no walking.

i felt great.

CONGRATS on your fund raiser for your well in cambodia! good for you chica!
Happy New Year!

Looooove this post!!! First, I squealed when I got that e-mail. Hopefully you get some pics of the well we built! I feel so proud of our baby well :D

Also, I didn’t know you were movie-ing all by your lonesome. People always look at me like they feel bad for me when i tell them i go to movies alone. I actually don’t get the point of going with people, you talk for 10 minutes while in line for the popcorn, and then just sit next to each other in silence for two hours. Plus, there are a lot of movies I want to see that i can’t drag other people to (ahemTwilightahem)

As for milestones – I started a brand spankin’ new job today. That feels pretty good :)

This post makes me smile. A lot :)

Congrats on surpassing your construction budget goal! Awesome.

And going to the movies alone is something I would really love to do. I’ve already tackled solo church-going, so I guess the movies are next?

New Year’s goals ain’t got nothin on your bad ass, keep it up, I’m rooting for you!!
