One Day

One day I’ll be the kind of hostess who has a bottle of wine waiting for guests.

One day I’ll learn how to roast the perfect spiced pumpkin seeds.

One day I’ll take a cue from my friend Darcey and accomplish both of these things, which she so fabulously did tonight. The key? Chill the wine in the fridge while you toss pumpkin seeds in 1 egg white, cayenne, garlic powder and s + p before roasting for 20 minutes.

One day I’ll stop eating pre-packaged food from boxes.

One day Schwan’s will realize they’ve been far too nice to me and stop sending me products free of charge to review for the blog, including this Salmon Teriyaki.

One day I’ll figure out how to use my new camera and avoid having to take a million shots just to get the right one.

One day my tastebuds will come to their senses (haha, get it?) and enjoy the real taste of salmon sans a giant, sodium-filled dousing of teriyaki sauce.

One day Darcey + I will review a product and give it 5 out 5 stars instead of the 3/3.5 out of 5 we gave this dish. It was good, not great but certainly enjoyable.

One day I’ll manage to make Mama Everythingtarian happy by actually smiling for a picture instead of making an obnoxious, hideous face for the 1,489,678th time in a row.

One day.

Maybe someday.

But definitely not today.

I’m pretty sure I will never grow out of making sassy faces for the camera. It just kind of happens.

haha,

haha,

haha, okay, enough laughing. I love you.

Don’t even worry about one day because I’m totally obsessed with you today. One day I won’t eat a Caesar salad in a bag kit…IN THE BAG, and call it eco friendly instead of bag-lady-esque…but that day was definitely not today.

I tried roasting pumpkin seeds last year. They were super bland and boring. I think they needed 10x the amt of seasoning i used. They were so unimpressive i will probably not try them again…b/c it’s hella lotta work cleaning all that pumpkin goop off those seeds LOL

:)

Sometimes, those packaged salmons are just better! It’s not your taste buds, don’t worry! ;)
Love you lady!!

Glad you had a fun night :) Hooray for roasted pumpkin seeds. Bummer the dish was just OK. Always fun to give new products a go

One day I will do a lot of things too – for now though, I’ll enjoy not doing them.

I love the idea of using an egg white to make pumpkin seed clusters. Maybe that would work to make granola clusters?

I hear ya on the DSLR thing, it’s even worse when you take pictures on a manual setting. It takes me so long!

I’m totally digging this post :)

It would take mass quantities of sodium and sauce for me to be able to tolerate salmon. I’m not sure my salmon liking day will ever come.

By the way, I won’t be seeing you at Foodbuzz :( Finances and a work conflict prevented me. My heart is more than broken.

Sami October 26, 2010 at 10:10 am

As Reggie Bush would say to Kim Kardashian, “Do you.” I love that you make goofy smiles in pictures- I do it too. Kindred spirits, much?? Oh, and the wine that I have chilling in my fridge is a bottle of Two Buck Chuck. Pure class.

did you buy the pumpkin seeds or make them yourself? i baked a pumpkin the other day and thought, i will be frugal & make my own pumpkin seeds. it was a complete failure.

And one day Jakey poo will wake up and realize that dating celebrities, especially minimally talented, minimally educated toothpick ones, is dookie and real people are the only way to go.

One day…

One day….I’ll learn to curb my coffee consumption. But not today. Or tomorrow.

Rae October 26, 2010 at 6:53 pm

Those pumpkin seeds look delish! One day I’ll be as funny and witty as you ;) By the way, I love reading your blog (even though I don’t comment often!) and have given you the SUNSHINE Award on my blog because you’re always making me smile :) Check it out!

Meaghen October 26, 2010 at 8:47 pm

I’ve seen so many pumpkin seeds on blogs. Yours was the last straw. I must now make pumpkin seeds tomorrow! Well.. one of these days…

Oooh I want to make pumpkin seeds so badly!! I would love to be eating those right now…one day, I guess. ;-)

Carrie S. October 27, 2010 at 8:29 am
