Overscheduled + Underpaid

Anybody else with me on this? Let’s stand up to the man!

Okay, so maybe I am being a slight drama queen, but for reals – does anybody else overcommit themselves and suddenly have a bajlillion things to do? I guess I could breakdown into a drug habit and ruin my career a la Lindsay Lohan, so maybe I am handling the stress better than I realized…

1/2 cup oats
equal parts skim milk + 0% Fage + POM juice
1 tbsp. shredded coconut
(soaked overnight)
1/4 cup Optimum Slim Blueberry Cinnamon cereal
3 quartered black mission figs
dollop o’ raw AB



Since it will be a late night, there is going to be minimal commentary this evening.  Plus, with food like this, no words are needed quite frankly…

2 slices toasted spelt bread
1/4 cup mashed black beans (sprinkled w/ cumin + garlic powder)
sliced red pepper
baby spinach
1/2 mashed avocado



When I arrived back at the flat after a busy day of worksky, I found these darlings at my doorstep!


Thank you to Emily and the folks at Food Should Taste Good for offering to send me some samples of their products!  I’ve only tried the Sweet Potato flavor of these chips, so you can imagine my utter joyfulness when I took a look at the flavors they sent along: Cinnamon, Lime, Potato + Chive and Corn.

Ummm…are they stalking me and my blog? I am pretty sure they couldn’t have picked 4 more perfect flavors.

A little bit about the chips…

  • All-natural
  • Gluten-free
  • Kosher
  • Lactose-free
  • No MSG or preservatives
  • Trans fat and cholesterol free

I am liking the sound of these.  However, I am liking the looks even better…



But the taste, yes; the taste was the best.  The Cinnamon chips reminded me of a churro.  You know those long tubes of cinnamon sugar goodness?

They were the perfect sweet complement to a spiced Indian dinner…

Alright kiddos, I am off on a writing frenzy.  I am even skipping my 10 mile run tonight.  Grrrrr…that’s how much stuff I have to do.  With a couple deadlines looming, I need to go create some fantastic freelance fodder and wonderful witty writing.  Peace out.

A chip that tastes like a churro? Heaven!

Stacy’s Pita Chips in cinnamon sugar have a similar taste. I can’t keep an open bag by me, otherwise they will be GONE!

CHURROS! AMAZING! Your sandwich with avocado + mashed beanz = delicious.

OMGOODNESS I forgot how much I love figs! Fig jam = heaven. But then again, just super ripe delicious figs paired with cheese is even BETTA!

Missing out on Monday was fun, but it definitely left Tuesday and Wednesday to be fully packed days for me too. Good luck with all of your work!!

wow, the title is the story of my life. my boss even told me today that i am overworked. yeah, now where is my raise?! i LOVE the limey FSTG chips and i wanna try the cinnamon so hard. mmmm churro. my to do list? clean a room. my room specifically. it won’t happen.. just sayin. but i am all about wishful thinking! speaking of, i wish we were in the same state so we could eat indian together. love you!

I way overcommit myself. I feel like if I don’t have 12 things going, though, I’m not being productive enough.
I loved the cinnamon ones, too. They tasted like a freshly fried dessert, but you can sort of kind of convince yourself they’re just a chip and there’s still room for dessert

It’s the short week. I swear it’s getting to me too. Luckily my boss and I had a little meeting, and lets just say that my most annoying coworker? He ain’t gonna be annoying me anymore. Love my boss.

Your figs look soooo good! I stopped buying them since my “fig habit” was getting a bit too expensive… But now I really want some…

I also made your banana bread, but I was short by one banana so I didn’t follow the recipe exactly (but do I ever??!!?). It still turned out great! It’s been toddler, teenager & hubby approved! :)

The one thing on my to do list today was to paying my tuition bill (unfortunately financial aid and loans don’t take care of all of Xavier’s monster tuition cost). So, I grudgingly made that transaction. We just bought some of those Jammy Sammies for Snuffy at Babies R Us. She tried her first one tonight and loved it!

I hope that you got all of your stuff done that you needed to!! I had to skip my run too! My arm was way too swollen by the end of they day, and I decided to stay at home and take some Benedryl for the stupid wasp stings!!

ah, those sweet potato chips are my favorite too! totally jealous you got the cinnamon, lime and potato chive to try! I can’t find those flavors here yet. the cinnamon sound amazing!

unfortunately i feel like this constantly :(
i work my butt off for less than $10 an hour. stupid! and then im going to college an hour out of town where i live … and i have a bazillion projects to do and a bazillion hw assignments.. and blogging. ARGH! *pulls hair out* lol.

anyway, your figs look gorg!
oooo should try heating those cinnamon chips a little in the oven or something really quickly! i bet they would taste spectacular O.O

one thing on my todo list today is to study for my anatomy lab quiz … blah! and nap. lol. and have time to do both. :(

I think I take on too many commitments every day! But I always say- better busy than bored ;) The figs in your bfast bowl look awesome. Lime chippers? I’m in! I want all of those samples!

ahh, yes i feel ya on the underpaid part :-) but on the bright side, your breakfast bowl looks fabulous! do you just wash and halve the figs? can you eat the skins?

P.S. Thank you the shout out, your Granny’s banana bread totally rocked the house. There was ONE piece left and Ava gobbled it up as soon as I walked in the door with it!
