I can’t even believe as of today, I have been an official food blogger for six months.
Where has the time gone? It seems as though the older I get, the faster time travels. As much as I want the world to stop and pause for a moment so I can relish all the beauty around me, it’s not going to happen. I need to make time to stop, thank all of you for reading and realize how blessed I am in my life. I’ve got a good family, friends and food in my belly.
And at the end of the day, that is enough.
1/2 cup oats
1 cup water
1 small smooshed naner
1 heaping tbsp. Bee’s Knees PB
1 1/2 tbsp. dark choco chips

K knows where her Reese’s Oats are at. However, I hoped my swirls would be as pretty as last time.
Due to some work thangs, I was not able to eat lunch until past 1pm. That is like telling Britney Spears she can’t have Cheetos before 9am. NOT cool. However, the fact I was able to visit one of my fave places in Madison made up for it.
Butternut Squash Soup with Rosemary Sourdough Bread

Marigold Mixed Greens Salad (corn, green beans, tomatoes, carrots, parmesan + balsamic vinaigrette)

On this 5th rainy day in a row, this hearty + delicious meal was exactly what I needed.
NEW PRODUCT ALERT!!! Salt + Vinegar Almonds? Yes, please!

I got to skedaddle out of work at 4:15pm and headed straight to the gym. No excuses allowed en el mundo de La Everythingtarian Sana! Sarah is my new Spanish maestra by the way. She is going to make me fluent – at least in food. And that’s all a girl really needs, no?
5 min. – walk @ 3 mph on 3.0 incline
15 min. – run @ 6 mph on 3.0 incline
15 min. – walk @ 3 mph on 10.0 incline
5 min. – walk @ 3 mph on 0.0 incline
After, I stretched for a good 10-15 minutes, making this an almost solid hour-long workout.
With a pending Friday night date for drinks with two fabulous ladies, I headed home to take a quick shower and devour this: Pumpnanabutter Quesadilla. In case you didn’t catch that, that would be 1 smooshed naner, 1/4 cup pumpkin puree, cinnamon + Dark Chocolate Dreams PB spread on 2 Ezekiel tortillas and drizzled with maple syrup.

I. Will. Be. Making. This. Again.
I met up with the gals, where a couple brews were consumed before this…

A Spiced Apple Cider with Apple Stoli Vodka para mi, and a Spiced Apple Cider with Bourbon para Senorita Ilsa. Did I mention the apple cider is homemade at the restaurant? Amazing. Some snacking of a Mediterranean pita plate + Three Cup Tofu may have occured somewhere in the night ;).
Guess what I received in the mail yesterday? APPLESAUCE!
Not just any applesauce however, Materne’s GoGo Squeez Applesauce! Made from 100% fruit, these squeezable and resealable pouches are perfect for kids AND adults on the go! One fact I love is that they have sold more than 1 billion pouches in France, and let’s be real – the French are intelligent, chic and oh so glamourous!

And look at all the glorious flavors! Thank you to Laurent and the rest of the gang at Materne for offering to send me these samples. Aren’t those resealable tops too much fun?

The best part? Materne sent me 2 boxes of each flavor (4 pouches in a box), which means I have a set of pouches to giveaway!
Here’s what you need to do:
(1) Leave a comment here letting me know which flavor you would like to try and why.
(2) If you have a blog, link back to this giveaway, and leave a 2nd comment with the link.
If you don’t have a blog, leave me a 2nd comment and tell me something random about you.
Enter by Monday night @ 10pm. The winner will be announced Tuesday morning!
Speaking of winners…
The winner of the breast cancer awareness giveaway (via Random.org) is #60…Stacie, who wrote:
“I promise! But, it’s easy for me since I am a survivor
. I was young at diagnosis so it’s my mission to pass the word along. I am alive b/c I caught it early.”
How amazing is Stacie for not only surviving breast cancer but working to pass along the message about breast cancer? She is an inspiration, and I cannot think of a more deserving winner. Stacie, send your contact info to healthyeverythingtarian@gmail.com, so I can get the goods sent out to you.
Thank you again for reading, supporting and coming back to this blog day in and day out. You are all amazing, and I wouldn’t have made it to six months without each and everyone of you!
What is one thing that has changed in your life in the past six months? Mine is obviously this blog. I mean, new friends, free samples, a place to vent and yummy food…who could ask for more than that?

YUM-O. I love applesauce! I’d definitely go for the apple peach!
Happy blogiversary to youuuuuuuuu…(that’s me singing by the way!)
Salt and vinegar almonds? YAY! About time the salt + vinegar combo starts hitting this side of the atlantic.
Biggest change in the past 6 months has been moving into my own apartment :D Though my blog becoming more food orientated and therefore becoming more involved in the food blogging community has been pretty huge too. I also discovered almond butter and that is NOT something I can ignore. So there ya go…roof over my hea, good friends and almond butter. Key to happiness? I think so.
Applesauce in pouches is an awesome idea- you can squirt it at people if you get full! I think cinnamon sounds best but that’s because I had an apple cinnamon grammy sammy this weekend and it made me realise how much I miss cinnamon. NY is fab and groovy, but 3 weeks without nut butter, oatmeal and cinnamon is too long.
apple banana! and happy blogaversary!
I would love to try the apple cinnamon flavor. Those pouches are so cool!
I’m going to have to go on a major hunt for those almonds. The people at Blue Diamond are geniuses.
I love your blog! We seem to have the same taste in food, for sure.
Apple cinnamon for me as well!
Random thing about me: I had 7 wisdom teeth extracted a couple of summers ago. One spot had 2 extra teeth and another had 1 extra! Wierd huh?
I don’t really want to be entered in the giveaway, because I have apples coming out the wazoo, but CONGRATS on the six month anni!
apple-peach and apple-banana!! I can’t choose!
Oh, and Pumpnanabutter Quesadilla?! Say that three times fast, and I’d like three of those, please! :D
Ooh that apple peach sounds pretty appealing–I think peach is kind of an underappreciated fruit in the food world:)
Ohh my apple peach sounds marvelous because any thing with with peach in the title makes me drool instantly! (TMI?)
Something random about Alli:

Happy 6 months! Time sure does fly. I’m in love with your lunch…that’s my fav seasonal soup…and wow, that salad. I would love to try to recreate that salad at home, but sadly I don’t think it would come out nearly as gorgeous!

Something random about me?
When I was a junior in high school I got my first job in a restaurant that served fried chicken. I went from 110 to 165 lbs.in about 6 months.
The 2nd semester I took a girls weghtlfiting class taught by the boys football coach 5 morning a week. by the time school was out for the summer I was back down to 120.
I started eating healthier and kept up the excercise and was 110 by August. I’ve stayed that around 110 since 1980.

If I were to try those adorable applesauces, I’d love the apple+cin. Such a classic holiday flavor combo, and clearly, my head is already thinking about Thanksgiving and Christmas.
