in blog stuff,randomness

Thanks to my homegirl (and best friend I’ve never met) Kailey, I have some personal sharing of sorts to do. Since I look like a 16-year-old emo boy (read: Vans checkered tennis shoes, black skinnies, black + red plaid shirt and an “I hate life” scowl) and feel like I need some serious soul baring to express to the world who I truly am, I decided today would be a good day for this.

Four TV Shows I Watch

  • Glee <- anything musical-related is seriously my jam
  • Modern Family
  • The Office
  • Top Chef <- Elise + Marci say I remind them of Carla? It’s a good thing I LOVE her…

Four Things I’m Passionate About

  • travel
  • laughter
  • healthy living <- which means devouring just many salads + kombuchas as desserts + beer
  • Jake Gyllenhaal <- obvs, as I’ve officially reached stalker status over M.F.H. (ahem, my future husband)

Four Words/Phrases I Use Too Much

  • deev <- short for diva
  • whatevs
  • Love it.
  • “Umm…” <- I should seriously add excluding this phrase to my 2011 goals

Four Things I’ve Learned From the Past

  • Life. Goes. On. <- if you remember anything, just remember this
  • Life. Goes. On.
  • Life. Goes. On.
  • If you think a guy is a douche when you first meet him, he probably is. <- the amount of hilarious things you find by a Google Image Search of “douchebag” is amazing, for the record…

Four Things I’m Looking Forward To

  • traveling <- potential trips to Austin, TX; New York City; Honduras; + London, England this year (funds pending)
  • NOT watching the ball drop on NYE (a.k.a. bed before midnight) <- I hate New Year’s with a burning passion
  • eating my awesome lunch I brought today
  • payday tomorrow {!!!}

Four Things I Love About Winter

  • the first snow <- it’s so magical, white and lovely
  • when there’s lots of snow on the ground & it’s really cold out, it’s the perfect excuse to do nothing
  • snowboarding <- it’s been a couple years, but I love it!
  • reading a book with a hot cup of tea on a cold winter night

Tag Four People to Play Along

  • my favorite cake lover (and fellow birthday girl!) Katie
  • Chelsey, the queen of clean eating
  • my Chicago BFF I’ve never met, Megan
  • the newest blogger on the block, Micah from Sweet Like Tea <- she’s a food blog reader turned blogger, so go show her some <3

YOUR TURN: pick a category, and give me four thangs!

Don’t forget to donate and help Brandi + I raise money for Jovenes en Camino, an orphanage in Honduras for abused, homeless and orphaned children. We are scarily close to already reaching $1,000! Donate here, por favor.

Fun post. I’ve seen this little survey running around blog world and think its super fun. I wouldn’t know what to answer to the what I love about winter question though… <3 top chef! are you watching the current season? I love seeing some of my favorites back in action.

Madeline - Greens and Jeans December 30, 2010 at 10:34 am

Douchbag Express totally made my morning. My friend Alex always describes the “awful” ones as the “captain of the douche canoe.”

Mellissa December 30, 2010 at 10:34 am

Love the fact about a guy being a douche and the image even more! 2011 is going to be a great year.

Susan December 30, 2010 at 12:02 pm

amanda December 30, 2010 at 12:10 pm

har har! i loveeeee the douchebag express. i agree…if it walks like a douche, talks like a douche…chances are he is one!

glee and modern family equals major love.

Katie December 30, 2010 at 1:05 pm

Whohoo! I can’t wait to do this post! Thanks for the tag, lady.

I’m also so excited that you hate New Years, because I do too. I don’t think I’ve stayed up for midnight for at least 3 years. Blech…hate it.

And I’m still laughing at the douchebag express – that’s the best news.

Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine December 30, 2010 at 1:30 pm

All I can say is that hipsters are WAY too low on the douchebag express. I’m tired of being judged for wearing Topsiders non-ironically.

Top Chef represent!!

jeri December 30, 2010 at 1:46 pm

omg, every time you post a pic of yourself on your blog I think… IT’S CARLA FROM TOP CHEF! Hooty hoo! Hahah.

Kacy December 30, 2010 at 1:54 pm

Oooh chile, I feel ya on the payday enthusiasm! My bonus (wack as it was) and raise is going to be on there and I can’t wait to see how much I lost to the tax gods. Oh, and there’s the whole having less than $10 to my name thing that makes me eager as well…

And I LOVE Carla! Is Top Chef new tonight? Can’t wait!

Four Words/Phrases I Use Too Much

Literally <- it drives people crazy and I don't care!
In my life
Legitimately <- see literally
f*ck <- yup, I curse like a sailor. i really should quit, it's not becoming.

Marci December 30, 2010 at 1:55 pm

I’m not a big ny eve fan either but I do love glee, Jake g and using the word ‘whatevs’ . Four things I’m looking forward too? Drinks on new years eve, a massage next week, chilling st my grand parents house for second Christmas and a fresh start with 2011 :)

Katie December 30, 2010 at 8:53 pm

I hate NYE too. I’ll be in bed as soon as the ball drops….on the east coast. That whole time change thing is gonna be great.

It took me years to learn the douchebag thing. My friend used to call herself my douchebag deflector in college. I needed her too. I am a douchebag magnet.

Micah G December 31, 2010 at 5:54 pm

“NOT watching the ball drop on NYE (a.k.a. bed before midnight) <- I hate New Year’s with a burning passion"

I think people forget that 6 months of the year have a 31st day… why is this one different?!
I'll probably watch toy story 3 and bake.
Have a good 31st!

elise January 3, 2011 at 8:23 pm
