THAT Kind of Week

by Holly on October 21, 2010

in rambling,VLOG

Last night, I planned to fill y’all in on the rest of my “A Day in the Life.” For the multiple people who e-mailed me asking if Tuesday’s shenanigans actually happened to me, yes they did. I can’t make stuff like that up. Wait, I take that back. I definitely could make that up, but it would be much cooler and end in me marrying Jake Gyllenhaal.

Anyways, in what should have been a predictable twist of events, life happened…

  • Made VeggieGirl’s Chocolate Chip-Banana-Beer Blondies while drinking a double chocolate coffee oatmeal stout beer
  • Fell asleep in my work clothes while taking a “15-minute nap” at 9pm
  • Drove to Mama + Daddy Everythingtarian’s house, arrived at 8pm and proceeded to watch three episodes of Project Runway ( I <3 Mondo) even though I knew I needed to get up at 5:45am the next morning
  • Thought it was Friday (see here)
  • Got locked out of the Everythingtarian house and had to call Mama E to rescue me
  • Perhaps shed a tear when I experienced the final breakdown of my camera, including having 10 pictures stuck on my precious Casio EXLIM which I may never get back

In other words, it has been THAT kind of week.

I am now cameraless.

But not blogless.

I present to you VLOG #6…

What kind of week have YOU been having? Sharing is caring!

Heather (Perspective Is Everything) October 21, 2010 at 9:10 pm

Yes-you have had an epic and memorable week. I knew there was truly a bomb scare thanks to NBC 15 :)
This week:I packed, cleaned, organized, packed, ran my daughter to all her activities, worked, blogged, and packed some more.
Seattle-bound Saturday mornin!!

your auntie October 21, 2010 at 9:38 pm

lora October 21, 2010 at 9:48 pm

my culturally relevant costume is katy perry, while DJ is gonna be russell brand. We had this costume on lockdown since august :) have fun at the Everythingtarian house bebe! much love!

Danielle October 21, 2010 at 9:58 pm

…I love you.

Vlog every day so I feel like we’re hanging out again. Deal? Deal.

Let’s see, my week… Well, I’ve been living in one spot for most of it, home to be specific. It’s been both weird and awesome and the exact opposite of busy which isn’t actually as incredible as it sounds. I’ll keep you posted about next week though, hopefully some exciting things’ll get moving by then ;) fingers crossed.

Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) October 21, 2010 at 10:13 pm

I totally saw VG’s blondies and WANT THEM!!! I am so glad you made them…and paid a lil homage to some beer in a dessert :)

Christina October 21, 2010 at 10:28 pm

Wicked fun vlog!! Happy camera shopping!

Katie October 21, 2010 at 10:59 pm

I have totally been a pregnant white trash woman for Halloween!

crunchy granola gal October 21, 2010 at 11:23 pm

um, can i just say that you’re hilarious? i guess that means i’m hilarious too, ’cause i totally make strange noises (like the fingernail noise) all the time. embarrassing and sad, but entirely true.

my week’s been kind of intense too. my new internship is “dumb” stressful, as my kids would say, but i’m dealin’. wheelin’ and dealin’… or not, but it felt right.

whatevs.. happy friday chica!!

Lindsay @ Summit Sandwiches October 21, 2010 at 11:31 pm

Oh my goodness…your culturally relevant costume suggestions are fantastic! I might steal the Chilean miner idea. I have a climbing helmet in my possession. All I need to complete the look is a little soot on my face, and I’ll be ready to rock n’ roll.

P.S. Your Vlog is awesome. Seriously. You are too funny, and I mean that in the best way. If your dreams of being a London socialite don’t work out, you might want to consider hosting your own talk show. I see a future for you in this strange little niche. :)

Mama Pea October 21, 2010 at 11:39 pm

I paused ANTM so I could watch you. Seriously. I am counting down the days until we are reunited in the flesh at San Fran. And I realize how creppy “reunited in the flesh” sounds.

I wish I had 32 friends. I’d be so over that miner costume.

Gavi @ GaviGetsGoing! October 21, 2010 at 11:52 pm

Loved the “vlog.” Polygamist, Betty White, Glee…”unlimited possibilities” is definitely the theme of this year’s culturally relevant Halloween costumes! I’d like to add Lady GaGa’s infamous meat dress to the mix. Since the world seems to think that Halloween’s other name is National Bikini Day, you could rock the pastrami-and-chuck roast two-piece. Just a thought…

I hope you have a much more manageable week!

Lauren October 22, 2010 at 5:45 am

OMG, this is so great!! You could only capture the craziness of this week through a Vlog. I love you! Hope today is semi normal! :)

chelsey @ clean eating chelsey October 22, 2010 at 6:03 am

I’ve had a pretty laid back week. Nothing too exciting happened and it was just kind of run of the mill!

Maya October 22, 2010 at 6:23 am

DUDE. CHILEAN MINER. ALL OVER THAT. No, but seriously, I’m Chilean, so that costume is not only culturally relevant but ethnically relevant as well! I’m definitely considering it.

Loved the vlog, Holly! Stay cool and hope you get an awesome camera!

Erica October 22, 2010 at 6:31 am

hahhaha your mom bought you a maternity dress? That is hilarious. I could totally see my mom doing that by accident for me too. I’ve been wanting to try those beer blondies too. Let us know how they are!So sorry to hear about your camera :( A polygamist? hahahha that would be an awesome Halloween costume. Have a great weekend

Julie October 22, 2010 at 8:09 am

I’ve missed your vlogs! Love the Halloween ideas.

Kacy October 22, 2010 at 9:51 am

Your face was a bright and shining moment in this rainy, sleepy day I’m having. Loved the costume ideas, did not love that so many crappy things happened to you this week. I hope the weekend does you better!

Kailey (SnackFace) October 22, 2010 at 9:57 am

Can you please do a vlog every day? Pweeeeease.

You’re just too hilarious!

Um, awesome recommendations. I’ve had halloween on the brain. Couple’s costumes? Don and Betty Draper before the divorce (do you watch Mad Men>) or Gisele and Tom Brady before the baby? OK, one of those will mean I’ll basically look like I do every weekend, but still.

My week has been chill. You know, living the unemployed life.

Love ya!!

Allison October 22, 2010 at 10:35 am

Oh my god… I love you. That vlog made my morning a bit brighter… wait, that came out wrong. I promise I’m not finding joy in your awful week I meant the rest of the stuff (specifically the mormon halloween costume idea). I’m running a halloween half marathon in Provo, UT next weekend… I’d probably get skinned alive if I wore that costume, but the thought made me laugh anyways :)

Lindsay @ Pinch of Yum October 22, 2010 at 11:11 am

LOL – love the part about the maternity dress! And way to go for Vlogging! Ive thought about it but up until now I have been too intimidated to actually go through with it. Hope your weekend gets better!

Dana @ my little celebration October 22, 2010 at 12:46 pm

Ha ha, Holly you are seriously hilarious. I really liked the VLOG. Perhaps I should give that a try. Hmmmmm…

Thanks for all the great Halloween costume ideas. I haven’t decided what I’m going to be yet, but my dog is definitely going to be one of the flying monkeys from wizard of oz. Can’t wait.

What are you going to be this year? And what is your favorite Halloween candy to devour?

Blog hugs,

emily (a nutritionist eats) October 22, 2010 at 1:14 pm

Oh Holly!!! I can’t watch the vlog right now, but I hope your week turns around! (I’m sure it will!) xoxo

rebecca lustig October 22, 2010 at 1:51 pm

phew, what a busy week!!

i feel liek the days are so long but then i end up saying ‘oh wait, it’s friday again…’ the weeks just go by. probably due to doing the same routines every day.

tgif lovely!

Sissy#1 October 22, 2010 at 2:22 pm

Where did you acquire an accent for your vlog? Interesting…

claire October 22, 2010 at 3:11 pm

yep, this made my day. I am about 10% as funny as you, and even those times are by accident (usually clumsiness, you know).

ok, my boyfriend worked on big love so I totally need to be a sister wife for halloween…sexy, right?

can’t wait to meet ya at foodbuzz lady!

claire October 22, 2010 at 3:12 pm

oh and I also love Mondo…kind of want that skirt he made last night.

p.s. hope the weekend gets better for you and that you picked up a fun new camera!

Madeline - Greens and Jeans October 22, 2010 at 3:14 pm

Love. You. October 22, 2010 at 3:19 pm

can i please just save a clip of you saying “coming from me casa de”… etc. actually if i could have it so that i played everytime i logged in to my computer in the morning, that would make my life so much more amazing! haha that was hilarious- especially with the shoulder shimmy. ur too funny!! <3

Susan October 22, 2010 at 3:38 pm

Umm I flippin’ love your vlogs. Seriously. If I had to add one costume to your list is Franken-Heidi Montag. It’s been a couple of months since she’s kind of left the radar, but I worry that she might be dead by Halloween 2011 and then it just wouldn’t be funny anymore.

Sounds like you’ve had a crazy week but you take it well. My week’s been pretty good and I’m knocking on wood/avoiding sidewalk cracks etc. so it stays that way.

Jessica October 22, 2010 at 5:19 pm

For real–you are just too cute for words. Loooove the nails! So fierce.

But say what!? I’m thinking mama E wants her own grandchild already….bahaha

Also, YOU ARE HILARIOUS. Let’s get you your own travel/cooking/comedy show stat. Please and thank youu!

And the halloween costume ideas….classic! I’m actually going to go shopping in just a few hours, soooo I may need to channel my inner cheerio and do the damn thang! Or channel my inner preggo white trash/teen mom look. Whatever works :) xoxoxox

Virginia @ YtotheUmmy October 22, 2010 at 8:53 pm

it’s been one of those weeks in which i don’t even have time to clean the dirt out of my fingernails. ’nuff said.

Diana @ frontyardfoodie October 22, 2010 at 10:33 pm

hahaha ‘marry Jake Gyllenhaal’.

Most of the time this week I didn’t know what day it was at all. I still don’t know the date.

Also, I’m coming down with a cold for the first time since last December. LAME.

Little Bookworm October 23, 2010 at 7:24 am

Love the vlog! :D

*Andrea* October 23, 2010 at 11:28 am

love all your ideas!!! you’re so hilarious by the way. i love the miner idea…. if i had 32 close friends i would so do that lol. and i had a twitter i’d followyou ;)

Susan October 24, 2010 at 8:17 am

I love your face. I can’t wait to see it again in less than two weeks!!! Also, your non-bitten fingernails look fab ;)

My week? I’ve been working 60 hour weeks. It’s cah-razy.

Nancy October 25, 2010 at 10:20 pm

You are hysterical. I especially loved your Halloween culturally relevant costume ideas.

VeggieGirl May 26, 2011 at 6:00 pm

Watching this again. You rock :D Too funny with the costumes; but I’m sorry that you had a rough day here :(
