the juice fast, day 1

I am an Everythingtarian.

I will proudly inhale a tabbouli, hummus + pita plate, Bad Breath Burger, two beers and honey ricotta cheesecake dinner just as easily as I packed down a vegan Cinco de Mayo feast last night, which was for the record, a smashingly good array of guacamole + blue corn chips, sweet potato + black bean burritos and bananas foster over Coconut Bliss vanilla ice cream. When it comes to food, I rarely discriminate.

But today, I come face to face with an Everythingtarian first: a two-and-a-half day juice detox.

I’d be lying to you if I said I wasn’t a bit scared.

I’d be lying to you if I said I wasn’t secretly thinking about a cheeseburger right now. Preferably this one.

And I’d be lying to you if I said I was excitedly looking forward to imbibing these four bottles of juice from now until Sunday at noon, when my friend and I are hosting a brunch soiree where every dish will contain Nutella in some form.

So I won’t lie to you.

I’m scared.

I’m dreaming of cheeseburgers as I type this.

And if my calculation is correct, Nutella brunch is only a short 52 hours and 8 minutes away.

But I like to think life is about trying new things.

And I like to think being an Everythingtarian is about trying new {every}things.

So please keep my co-workers in your prayers today.

They are going to need it.

I’ve been always intrigued by a juice fast. Looking forward to your updates! Oh, and I’ll be thinking of your co-workers! Glad they only have to deal with you on Day 1! :)

Smart to do it going in to the weekend! When I did a 2-Day juice detox, all I wanted to do on day 2 was sleep. And stay under the covers – all that cold juice left me shivering!

Good luck! My friend did a similar detox and fainted, so please be careful and listen to your body. I’m curious why you are doing this — Are you trying to lose weight? Or is it simply for detox purposes? You seem like you already have such a healthy diet (with the occasional and necessary adult beverage here and there.)

Mmm… if you’re going to do a juice fast, the juices from the co-op are the way to go. Those two are my favorite ones! :)

Eek, good luck! My dad fasts every Wednesday. No joke. Except he drinks coffee. Naturally. Just keep yourself distracted and make sure you drink lots of water! :)

good luck girl. I know juice cleanses can be tough. I have tried them before but failed…haha, but you can do it!! Just take one day at a time.
