This post is gonna be short and sweet.
I literally got home for the first time all day about 10 minutes ago (at about 9:30pm). It is literally taking all my strength not to hop in bed right now, but I have too many good things to post! I can’t NOT post all of this. Just too good.
Last night, I had to eat my words.
After seeing April’s Protein Cookie Dough on her fabulous blog, I was skeptical. Could protein powder really be transformed into something even resembling cookie dough? Oh, how wrong I was!
Consider me converted.
Looks like cookie dough right? But no, that would be: 1 packed Vanilla Spirutein protein powder (pea, rice + soy blend), 1 tbsp. water, 1 tbsp. almond butter, cinnamon + carob chips. Looks like dough, tastes like dough – heck, it might as well be dough!
This morning, I took my last batch of Kath’s Whole Wheat Yogurt Pancakes (with PUMPKIN!) out of the freezer, popped em’ in the microwave for about 90 seconds, slathered them with almond butter + raspberry jelly and called it breakfast…
Lunch was something I packed in about 90 seconds this morning…
- La Tortilla wrap filled with baba ghanoush, black beans + broccoli slaw
- hot chocolate
These past two weeks, work has been crazy busy. Literally, I usually have time to read a number of blogs throughout the day. I maybe read a handful of them today, and that was because I took a legit break at lunch. *sigh*
I took another legit break around 3:30pm for a snack, knowing that I needed to be properly fueled for my 4:30pm appointment. This may be one of my best yog messes yet.
- Plain 2% Chobani Greek yog
- 1/2 cup Kellogg’s Lowfat Granola + 1/2 box raisins + 2 tbsp. carob chips
- Raspberry jelly
The granola + jelly was refilled about halfway through the yog. Too good.
I left work a bit past 4pm…why you ask?
To start checking off things on my 2010 To-Do List of course!
Starting today and running every Tuesday until May, I will have LATIN DANCE/SALSA lessons from 4:30-6pm and SPANISH class from 7-8:30pm (!!!!!).
My first salsa class was fab, besides the fact I stubbed my toe walking into the room, starting bleeding all over and injured myself before class could even start. I believe Darrell, my instructor, said, “I don’t think I have had anyone injure themselves before class has started.” Touche Darrell. My mom doesn’t call me special for nothing.
Spanish was great as well, and I am so excited to get back into el espanol. I need MUCHO practice!
Between classes, I hit up a Madison staple called Ian’s Pizza. Their macaroni and cheese pizza is TO DIE FOR (click here for a droolworthy photo). As much as I wanted good ol’ mac n’ cheese, I went with the chili cheese pizza. Oh yes, you read that right: CHILI CHEESE PIZZA.
Unfortunately, two of my fellow salsa dancers dined with me so no picture (unfortunate for the picture, not the dining companions). And the picture above is actually of Ian’s steak n’ fries pizza, but my pizza looked most similar to this. So just go with it.
When I arrived home, I found some fun stuff awaiting me!
First, the lovely people over at Mrs. Dash sent me some samples of their salt-free seasonings. Not only does this happen to coincide with the National Salt Reduction Initiative and New York’s pledge to reduce salt consumption by 20%, but I am totally in need of some yummy seasonings to cook with. I already have some ideas conjured up…
And my travel loving, fitness fiend of a friend Nicole sent me a beautiful European box of goodness…
Three (!!!) types of chocolate, olive oil, chapstick and a lovely tea bag plate…THANK YOU! And go check out her blog Geek Turned Athlete – not only does this lady live in Germany with her hubs, but she is in PHENOMENAL shape!
- Don’t forget to enter my giveaway to win a single serve blender and a yummy Yoplait coupon!
- Check out this Wisconsin Mac n’ Cheese blog – featuring a NEW mac n’ cheese recipe from the web’s TOP food bloggers everyday from now until February 19th!
So much for keeping this short and sweet, huh?
Told you it was all too good to pass up.
