Tot Me

by Holly on March 29, 2012

in obsessions,silliness

I can’t even.

Three bags of Alexia Sweet Potato Puffs consumed in less than two weeks. Almost exclusively downed with sriracha mayo (my condiment of choice). I cannot get enough of these crispy-on-the-outside, soft-and-fluffy-on-the-inside tots that I think I am starting to turn orange…like oompa loompa orange.

Before you know it, I am going to shrink two feet, gain fifty pounds and start sprouting green hair and white eyebrows.

Send help.

And more sriracha. I’m out.

I went with the chipotle fries. It says 7 servings or something. I took them down in 3. Holla’.

Lindsay @ Lindsay's List March 29, 2012 at 9:44 pm

I haven’t tried these yet. Sad, I know!

Willow @ My Own Trail March 29, 2012 at 9:47 pm

I LOVE those and can easily eat a whole bag by myself…in one sitting. Sure, I pretend I’m buying them for the kids, but they don’t actually like them all that much and yet they keep making their way into my cart…every time I go to Target.

Yup. I couldn’t live without sriracha mayo.

Katie March 29, 2012 at 10:20 pm

Have you tried Terra chips- the sweets & beets? Oh my goodness. Another dangerous item.

It just occurred to me the other day that I haven’t had tater tots in FOREVER. This post is making me think that I really need to remedy that situation. That, and the lack of sriracha in my pantry. Thanks for the reminders!

mmm, tots. i went on a tot-kick (teehee) a few months back and made two types (mashed potato and sweet potato) of tater tots. they were fab. i think i need to make that sriracha mayo to go with them the next time around. mmmmgood.

My hands did turn orange at one point from eating too many carrots! Yep – way too much of the beta carotene/Vitamin A in my system!

Kelly @ No Sugar Sweet Life March 30, 2012 at 9:12 am

I didn’t love them. They were too SWEET for me!

Jen March 30, 2012 at 10:44 am

They aren’t my favorite on their own. But the other week I topped them with sauteed spinach, mexican chorizo, a fried egg and loads of hot sauce. It’s a strange combination that really worked for me.

Please don’t turn into an oompa loompa. They’re my biggest phobia in the universe. I don’t want a sudden Everythingtarian-aversion.

Megan (Braise the Roof) March 30, 2012 at 1:49 pm

I feel sorry for people who don’t like mayo solely because of spicy mayo. It’s the best, the BEST. If you do turn into an oompa loompa, will you send me some candy from the Wonka garden room? Would also take chocolate river water.

I totally have been meaning to try these!

I love me some tots!

mallory March 30, 2012 at 8:02 pm

i’ll bring the sriracha if you share some of your tots.

Diana @ frontyardfoodie March 30, 2012 at 9:11 pm

Once I ate a lot of carrots over a few weeks and my hands turned orange. It was strangely delightful.

I have sriracha in my fridge, I’ll first class it asap.

BroccoliHut March 30, 2012 at 9:38 pm

Well, that settles it. I’ve been lusting after these tots every time I go to Target (which is quite often thank you), but somehow always convince myself not to. Added to the list :)

Lauren @ The Climbing Chef March 31, 2012 at 11:01 am

You’re so adorable! I can’t eat those because they aren’t gluten free :(

Alaina March 31, 2012 at 3:57 pm

My husband and I love those tator tots! And thankfully they are always on sale. :-)

Barb March 31, 2012 at 4:56 pm

I really think we may be long-lost BFFs.
Those tots are one of my favorite things right now.

Frances April 1, 2012 at 4:19 pm

believe it or not, i never much liked tater tots. i always preferred home fries.

Chelsea April 1, 2012 at 8:20 pm

So glad I found your blog. Hell-a-rious. Thanks for helping me make it through a boring night at work.

Kait April 1, 2012 at 9:53 pm

I’m obsessed with these and so thankful WF keeps putting Alexia on sale!!!

Sarah April 2, 2012 at 7:56 am

Umm…3 bags in two weeks doesn’t sound like too much to me! (I may be slightly dependent on chips and fries. Also, pretty much anything made of sweet potato.)
