TV (take three!)

in TV appearances

Yesterday morning, I was on TV…again!

My friends at the News 3 This Morning Show invited me back, and the topic of the day? OATMEAL!

Not only did I fully take those three short minutes to expunge the wonders of peanut butter…dried figs…natural sweeteners…and adding a drizzle of molasses to a warm bowl of pumpkin oatmeal, but I introduced the world to Banana Custard Oatmeal. This easy method involves whisking an egg in while your oats are cooking, which results in a thick, creamy and almost custard-like oatmeal.

You’re welcome world.

Watch my TV appearance here or on my Facebook page and prepare to have your custard oatmeal cherry popped. They’ll be no regrets on this one…I promise.

And if you just can’t enough OOAAATTMMEEEAALLLL and eat it everyday like Rob and I do (<- Rob is the lovely host, see above), then check out some of these other helpful posts on building creative, yummy + FUN bowls of morning oats…

Being on TV for oatmeal makes you some sort of healthy blogger goddess, I think. ;)

Congrats! I can’t wait to tell people I knew you when…

Katie January 24, 2012 at 8:44 am

You do such a great job! I would be ummm-ing and like-ing all over myself. And this video makes me so excited to meet you in May!!

Abby January 24, 2012 at 8:47 am

Isn’t TV fun? I though doing stuff live would be super scary, but I actually kind of prefer it. It makes it a bit more exciting, even if I discovered that I totally talk with my hands. And the “ums” will get you every time, but you did great! Rock star!

Sarah January 24, 2012 at 8:49 am

Now I want oatmeal! I didn’t know adding a whole egg would work with sweet oatmeal, but the way you describe it sounds delicious.
I joke sometimes about hiring you as my personal chef, but if we lived closer to each other, I would put some serious consideration into hiring you to teach me a thing or two. You’re so creative with healthy food!

I wish you wouldn’t have explained that Rob was the TV host so that you would get all sorts of !?!?!?!??!?!?! comments about the man in your life – HA!

I’ve recently been doing the custard oats – oh. my. gosh.

janetha January 24, 2012 at 11:45 am

You are a flipping superstar. Either that, or you are having a hot and steamy affair with tall TV man.

Gaaah, TV is fun! It’s awesome you got to be in the spotlight! Haha, you actually are one of the few people that can create an oatmeal recipe I think of as appetizing. It’s never been one of my favorite breakfasts, but I love your recipes for it.

Dad January 25, 2012 at 8:08 am

Yep. It should definitely be known that I started reading your blog way back before you became ridiculously famous. I have this funny feeling that this is only the beginning of something great. :D

Love the tv debut!
