I often receive lovely comments from readers who tell me they appreciate seeing someone who has found a true balance in their life.  And that, as my name suggests, I really am an “everythingtarian.”

The funny thing is…I never EVER feel balanced.

Every single day, I feel as if I’m juggling 12 balls in the air and struggling to keep each and every one of them from crashing to the ground. Whether its work, food, relationships, time management, exercise or just living, I have many days where I would like nothing more than to grab a gallon of Ben & Jerry’s (preferably Chunky Monkey), put on the largest elastic waist sweatpants I own, crawl in bed and just hibernate from the world.

That’s when I usually call Mama Everythingtarian. She’ll tell me to stop obsessing, overthinking and stressing.  Relationships, work, exercising, the Hershey Kisses I downed at 5:30pm, my future – she reminds me to stop worrying and just be me.  As always, the world is then set right once again.

Thank you mom.

With that, here is a real life look at a real life girl who makes real life mistakes, says real life dumb things and eats real life food while managing to lead some sort of semblance of a real life…

Breakfast was good.  Real good.  Strawberry Banana Oatmeal good.

1/2 cup oats
1 cup water
1 egg, whisked in
pinch of salt
vanilla stevia drops
1 sliced naner
1/2 cup defrosted strawberries
drizzle of almond butter

Because this was so dang nutritious AND delicious, we need a close up money $hot…

Because there ain’t a dolla sign out there to match my resume-ay-ay.

I ate 1/2 my lunch around 11:30am, because some days, that’s just how it goes.  It was a lovely slice of cranberry chipotle cheddar Wisconsin Cheese alongside some more of Barbara’s Salsa Snack Mix (which is ADDICTING – consider yourself warned).

The other half of lunch was a can of Amy’s Curried Lentil Soup with some carrots for dippage…

My meals may not be the most photogenic, balanced, well-timed or normal, but I swear they taste dang good. I have no tolerance for bad-tasting food.

Which is probably why at 5:30pm, when I found myself still at work, I proceeded to down about 8 Almond Hershey Kisses + 3 Airhead lollipops.  I was way too hungry, felt my blood sugar levels dip and dug in.  Not my proudest moment, but Mama Everythingtarian just reminded me why I should carry a snack in my purse at all times.  That woman is never wrong, I swear.

When I arrived home from work, I found this lovely treat from Ryan and all the wonderful people over at POM Wonderful, who are in fact also wonderful in real life.

After a sweaty 60 minutes of hanging out with Dave Farmar on my yoga mat, I knew I needed to put my stash of POM juice to good use…

That would be 1/2 cup organic skim milk, 1/2 cup POM juice, 1/2 cup frozen strawberries, 1/2 banana and a huge handful of spinach.  And it was delicious.  I swear, when I drink my spinach, I can feel my body immediately thanking me.

As an ‘everythingtarian,’ I believe this is the perfect time to hit ‘Publish,’ take a bath, put on a movie and crawl in bed.  Hey, you can still hibernate from the world without Chunky Monkey and elastic waist sweatpants.  It’s called sleep.

Who is your go-to person when you need advice or a good chat? Mama Everythingtarian is #1.  I shudder to think of all the blackmail material she has on me.

What is your favorite ice cream/movie/clothing to hibernate from the world in? Mint chocolate chip ice cream, The Notebook and aforementioned sweatpants.  I am such a girl.

what would we do without mommas? no really. i dont want to think about being old because she wont be around. that is my biggest, hugest fear ever. even moreso than being buried alive. yes, i have weird thoughts sometimes.

I’m not super good with feeling balanced either! I have 2 go to people: my mama and my Bryon! Both always help me out no matter what!

your blog says it all. I always feel imbalanced and we seriously have thousands of different things demanding and throwing stuff at us everyday. It never ends. My senior seminar is on how saturated our generation is with media, constant connection to the world, and responsibilities on top of responsibilities and how it is all effecting our health.

You are doing a great job at keeping it together and trust me recently my days have not been healthy to say the least but its life. And my food is always ugly haha.

My mother is def. my best friend NUMBER ONE person to go to. She knows too much sometimes. My favorite things to hibernate with are ice cream, sweats, and a good movie. I also enjoy a glass of wine now and then

You’re not alone…I feel like my life is a train wreck about 90% of the time. I go to my hub, my mom, my dad or my best friend. Whoever is available at the moment…I need a full on support SYSTEM sometimes. :-) And I also have a pair of elastic waist sweatpants that I wear every.single.night. Too sexy.

Moms are seriously God’s gift. I vent to my mom way more than she deserves. Poor thing didn’t know what she was signing up for when she got me ;)

And I’ve come to the conclusion that feeling “balanced” is in the eye of the beholder. We judge ourselves a lot harder when we have perfectionist mindsets. But you are a great example of an Everythingatarian, and I wouldn’t want you any other way.

And my go-to movie?? Hmmm, Twilight probably. Or watching the 5 seasons of House M.D. that I own. And peanut butter never fails to make me feel better.
