Isn’t life just full of em’? Today was no exception. Starting at the beginning…
Up: Today is Tuesday, which means a short work week – an even shorter work week para moi because I am leaving early on Friday to head out of town for a wedding…woowoo!
Down: My alarm went off at 6:15am. One word: EXHAUSTED. I guess sitting on your butt and watching movies at home does that to a person.
Up: Perhaps my best yog mess ever (I know I say this a lot, but this time I totes mean it!):
1 cup 0% Fage Greek yog
1 slice Walnut Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
1 sliced naner
dollop o’ raw AB (almond butter)
drizzle o’ honey
Up/Down: I really needed coffee this morning but refrained from buying it, because I knew my wallet would thank me later. I am still waiting for my thank you.
Up: Rave reviews from co-workers on the banana bread recipe – a foodie loves to hear words of love about her creations.
Up: A-better-than-Chipotle-lunch. Yeah, that’s right. A bold statement but so true.
Annie Chun’s Sprouted Brown Rice Bowl
black beans + salsa (with a couple dashes of cumin + garlic powder)
1/4 cup diced onion
1/4 cup diced red pepper
juice of 1/2 lime
Down: Even though I was fully satisfied from a tasty lunch, I wolfed down 1 MONDO slice (think 2 slices smooshed together) of more Walnut Chocolate Chip Banana Bread. Did it taste fabulous? Yes, definitely. Did I feel slightly gross + guilty afterwards? Yep. Like I said, I’m human.
Up: Instead of dwelling on the above mentioned eating, I moved on. I reminded myself I would only feel worse if I beat myself up about it. I call that progress or maturing…not sure which one.
Down: Checking my mail, I found my first Internet bill which was a whopping friggin’ $140 dollars (1st month + cost of modem + installation). Gahhhhhhh, I wish I could live without the Internet sometimes! Haha, who am I kidding? No I don’t.
Up: Also in the mail was this darling package from a giveaway I won on Lauren’s fabulous blog…
Up/Down: Not bad but not good 6-mile run. However, the reason I give it a big ups was because I did it with my new friend/co-worker Brett. He’s fab.
Up: Good running snackage – 1/2 Banana Walnut Gnu before the run and 1/2 after.
Down: Still haven’t stopped biting my nails. Don’t blame me. Blame the stress.
Up/Down: Even after the 6 miles, I wasn’t really hungry for dinner. After running, I am either STARVING or NOT hungry at all. Today, it was the latter. Also, my tumtum didn’t like me all afternoon, so that probs had something to do with it. However, I took a light dindin and ate this:
2 cups baby spinach
3 quartered fresh CA black mission figs
1/4 red pepper
1/4 cup onion
buttload of sunflower seeds
balsamic + EVOO
Two thangs: (1) how gorge are figs?, and (2) I had to use the flash – bad lighting.
Up: I was going to get some freelancing writing finished tonight, but I think I might save that for tomorrow evening and chillax with The Time Traveler’s Wife and perhaps an episode of Arrested Development to get my Daisy Duke jean shorts quota in for the day. I <3 you Tobias Funke.
