VLOG #5, part two

by Holly on April 7, 2010

in VLOG

Before the madness continues at Willy Street Co-op for part two of VLOG #5 (click here to watch part one in all its glory), there are a couple things I need to clarify…

  • Although Brett is technically a lawyer, he is NOT Mr. Lawyer. Sorry ladies + gents – the mystery over my wannabe love life shall continue!
  • Despite me saying that I needed to cut down on sugar, I indeed had ice cream last night.  Sue me.
  • I am pretty sure my dance friend Doug (with the two artificial hips) hit on me in salsa class last night. Weird thing is…I didn’t even mind it – in fact, I laughed.
  • As of today, the word “ummm” is banished from my vocabulary.

With that, enjoy part two (of three!) of my tour of the lovely Willy Street Co-op

Stay tuned tomorrow for…

  • Part three of VLOG #5
  • My new April goals
  • New product alert + seriously delicious food
  • More rambling, per usual

Happy Wednesday friends!

I haven’t tried the fermented tea either!! It makes me nervous. Love grind your own AB- so so tasty. Bulk bins always make me want to venture out and try new things! I totally want to try coconut flour. bulk spices? I’ve never seen such a thing- how cool. Amy’s products do rock. Love your vlogs! Keep them coming ;)

I love the bulk bin love. I don’t think my cashier understands me when I come with 20 bags of random food, but it’s worth it.
And I’m with crunchy granola gal in saying temp-ay, but your way is amusing, too, and it’s a funny word to begin with. :-D

After seeing your co-op’s bulk bin selection, I’m moving to Madison!!!!!!!!! They have twice the selection compared to my Whole Foods! :-)

Madeline - Greens and Jeans April 7, 2010 at 8:22 am

Dang! I thought I was on to something!

Whit April 7, 2010 at 9:02 am

I say tem-pah! We were meant for each other! haha, of course I’m more like Temp-uh, but whatevs!

Matt April 7, 2010 at 9:09 am

I am a bulk bin fanatic!

Kristie April 7, 2010 at 9:22 am

The coconut milk is so good!!! Buy it! :)

Also, I love how you are shaking the Kombucha. Hope no one bought that bottle that day so it could settle again. And I’m mad at the Willy bulk bins right now because they are out of the nooch powder (not flakes) and I can’t find it anywhere else!

And I am sorry but I won’t see you at the track tonight. My foot is demanding rest.

samantha April 7, 2010 at 9:26 am

kombucha freaks this homegirl out. i almost bought one yesterday, but then there was that scary thing floating in the bottom and i just couldn’t.

also, i say temp-ah….it’s more rad.

Your co-op looks amazing! It had me at bulk oats, bulk spices, and the amazing variety of granolas.

Jessica @ How Sweet April 7, 2010 at 11:20 am

I think you need to try komboucha! i like it. And what was that guy doing in the backround when you were by the dairy..lol? He sounded like he was moaning…lol. Still so jealous of your co-op.

Cindy April 7, 2010 at 12:54 pm

oh my gosh… your co-op is like my Sprouts but WAY bigger! WAY WAY WAY bigger.

I love it!

and you’ll love coconut milk (I buy it in canned form now bcause it’s cheaper) and Kombucha tea is GREAT

do not fear the Kombucha!

really fun grocery shopping with you!

Katie April 7, 2010 at 2:05 pm

I want to live there!!! Yes, and I do mean IN the co-op!

amanda April 7, 2010 at 2:48 pm

Julie @SavvyEats April 7, 2010 at 3:20 pm

Let’s take a field trip to Willy’s after our next blogger dinner!

Jamie Walker April 7, 2010 at 4:57 pm

I LOVE Kombucha, don’t fear!!!

Also, bins just make me want it ALL!

Tay April 7, 2010 at 5:11 pm

“So many frickin’ flours”. LOL. I liked that part :-) Looks like a great place – so jealous!

Graze With Me April 7, 2010 at 6:12 pm

Kombucha is the bomb!! Don’t be scared – try the grape or mango flavor first to ease into it. Then go all out and get the multi green or gingerade. It’s seriously the best drink ever, well except for champagne.

You’ve got me interested in the bulk bins at my store now. I never buy from them. No reason not to now. ;)

Emily April 7, 2010 at 7:24 pm

you’s a star. coop diva!

I love kombucha. nothing like a ‘bucha buzz in the morning :)

Molly April 7, 2010 at 8:35 pm

I’m really sad I can’t listen to these until this weekend, being that I’m at work and I’m already getting the stink eye for being on my comp…but have no fear, I WILL be catching up then. And I promise I’m sending goodies this weekend…I donno how long it takes to travel across the sea, but hopefully you’re still living in Wisc for the next 6 months :D Hope all is well girl!

Michal April 8, 2010 at 1:21 pm

HEAVEN!
Grind your own AB and loads on vegan yummies in stock? Yes please.

And girl you need to try kombuchu its so delicious :)

J April 8, 2010 at 7:52 pm

Go for the kombucha! It’s seriously awesome stuff, and it will be especially helpful for breaking that diet coke habit (it is sweet+bubbly). You can’t go wrong with grape, but I love guava and strawberry too!

Meaghan April 8, 2010 at 9:59 pm

Love your vblogs. That store looks amazing! I am so jealous.

Susan April 10, 2010 at 7:46 am

The floaty things at the bottom of bottle scare me too. Especially when it’s a MUSHROOM drink. *shudder*

I want to try maple powder too!!!! That’s an awesome bulk food section. Our bulk stores here are crap – everything is stale :\
