Will Do.

Inspired by the writings of a certain Fitnessista and Glo-ing gal…I decided it was time to make some resolutions for the new year.  Instead of resolutions however (those never seem to work out), I am making a list of Things I Will Do in 2010.

Who’s with me? Let’s cheers to proactivity!

Things I Will Do in 2010

Pay off my credit cards.
Without getting into detail, let’s just say if I pay a couple hundred bucks a month, they’ll be done for by 2011.

Run two 1/2 marathons at a sub-1:50 pace.
The first will be the Madison 1/2 Marathon in May, and the second one is TBA.  My two other 1/2 marathon times are 1:52 and 1:53, so if anyone has any tips on shaving off 3 or 4 minutes, let me know!

Travel somewhere.
I don’t care where, when, how or why – I just NEED to travel!

Put an additional $2000 in savings.
This equals out to $167/month. So, if my shopping habit doesn’t rob me, I should accomplish this just fine.

    Study Spanish.
    I am looking at taking a class starting in January – I would LOVE to eventually become fluent!

      Write a story + get it published.
      I have a couple travel stories I have written (including this one here), but I need to get proactive about sending them out.

        Cook one new recipe a week.
        It’s easy to get lazy in the kitchen, but I really believe this one is completely doable.  And tasty!

        So, there you have it my friends…some of what I hope to accomplish in the coming year.  And now you have all the evidential proof you need to hold me to my goals, tell me when I am slacking and keep a gal in line!

        Isn’t it funny how the a new year really makes you feel like so much is possible? It is also my goal to try to hold onto that feeling all year long and remember that EVERYDAY is a chance to do whatever the hell I want.  So corny, but so true :).

          All of your “will do’s” sound great! I am totally with you on the cooking a new recipe per week as well as saving money!

          I love saying “I will do this…” rather than calling it a “resolution.” :)

          your ambition is astounding! promise me that when your writing gets published you’ll call me (from a land line so you don’t rack up minutes on your cell phone which will help you with goal #1) and speak to me in spanish?! k? thanks!

          hey you could learn spanish & go to spain – kill two birds with one stone. haha

          I loooove this list. Honestly, my whole life is one big to do list. Lol. So I’ll have no problem making a list, its accomplishing the things I want to do thats the hard part! Definitely succeeding at school, and keeping up with my healthy eats (aka not binging on chocolate chips in the school industrial size walk in freezer.) Other than that I just wanna keep up with what I’m doing. Andd travel. So with you on that one.

          You’re going to rock these “I will do’s”, Holly! :D Love all the ideas!

          I plan on conquering a half-marathon and just…well…finishing it! haha…it will be my first, so the important thing for me is just to cross the finish line. ;)

          I think these are awesome goals :) We’re planning on going to Honduras in July… :) that’s one place to travel to!

          One thing I would love to accomplish: Find peace and stillness every day.

          I love your list of Will Do’s! The one thing I want to accomplish in 2010 is run another marathon. I had a really rough race in Boston this past spring and was injured for most of the summer. I’m a little scared to think about training and running for another 26.2, but I want to prove to myself that I can train smart, race tough, and not re-injure myself.

          Here’s to 2010 being a brand new start and a better year all around. Happy New Year Holly – love you girl!

          My #1 fitness goal in 2010 is to break through this stoooopid plateau!

          Otherwise, I want to pay off a bunch of debt and get a decent amount of cash in my savings account!
