That first picture had me drooling a little bit ;)

Megan @ The Oatmeal Diaries July 6, 2010 at 7:17 am

Wow, this kind of looks like the best weekend ever. I love how that cake is patriotic yet kind of artsy looking too! And that sign about traveling more is awesome.

Kristin (Salty Tooth) July 6, 2010 at 7:21 am

Wow, looks like an amazing weekend! I’m almost sad it’s over.

Samantha @ Health, Happiness & Skinny Jeans July 6, 2010 at 7:40 am

Looks like you had a great weekend!! I love photo journals and your captured a lot of great looking moments.

Garet July 6, 2010 at 8:22 am

I started salivating around the deep-dish pizza and didn’t stop until I got distracted by wondering how it would be to taste with my feet.

Nicole @ Geek Turned Athlete July 6, 2010 at 8:45 am

Spending time with my family! loved it! It was nowhere near exciting as your weekend looked! haha. Glad you are having fun!

Angharad July 6, 2010 at 8:57 am

Ok, that looks like an AMAZING weekend!! I love Chicago so so so much. Way to rock it. I am now realizing that I need to get a weekend out there on the calendar before the summer is up.

I celebrated (ahem) freedom (ahem) by laying in the sun all day on a boat and on a floating dock, drinking beer, eating cheetos and sandwiches, grilling, watching fireworks from the boat/water and swimming a lot. It was actually kind of the best ever.

Can’t wait to hear more bout what you’ve been up to!

Mackenzie @ Whatever, Gatsby July 6, 2010 at 9:08 am

Holy bajoly! Lovin’ the Chi-town pics. I used to live in Chicago, and I can’t wait to be that city’s clingy lover once again! :) Mwahaha

You ARE TOO PRECIOUS! Can I get a hellz yeah for the unitard?! I more than secretly want one.

wendy @ ABCs and Garden Peas July 6, 2010 at 10:35 am

Just wanted to let you know that you are inspiring healthy eating in the next generation of Central PA children, so i linked to you in my latest post! :)

I wish you would date my friend Craig. We could all hang out and eat food. It’d be fun.

samantha July 6, 2010 at 10:35 am

booyah to summer fourth of jooly vacation.

i celebrated by ingesting chlorine, surviving solely off of beer, bbqing, watching fireworks explode over the washington monument and enjoying life in all ways possible! now back work. sigh.

Heather (Perspective Is Everything) July 6, 2010 at 10:36 am

rockin’ the bodysuit/furry vest like nobody’s bidnezz! love it!
ooh….. looks like you had so much fun :D

my weekend was spent lounging, visiting, and hanging at the (VERY) local Tyranena Brewery.
Ever had Tyranena beer?
It’s such a cool brewery-family/dog friendly and bands play every friday and saturday.
SO much fun!!

Megan (Braise the Roof) July 6, 2010 at 11:09 am

Girl, we were on the same beach this weekend! Did you get burned at all like I did? Sometimes I forget that I am translucent. I’m a fool, I tell you!

claire July 6, 2010 at 11:16 am

HA…that photo of you in the jumpsuit (?) and vest…so great! It looks like such a fun weekend lady!

Emily (A Nutritionist Eats) July 6, 2010 at 12:36 pm

Love Chicago! Looks like you do too! :)
When are you coming up North again? I think it is soon!

Laura July 6, 2010 at 1:34 pm

Diana @ frontyardfoodie July 6, 2010 at 2:01 pm

I obviously didn’t take advantage of this holiday as well as you……looks like you had a BLAST.

However, with a burgeoning belly and a kicking baby all up in my rib area I managed to relax instead of party hard. A girl’s gots to have balance I suppose!

Kacy July 6, 2010 at 3:29 pm

Glorious! We really must meet in person. I think we are one and the same. And that pizza?!?! I DIE!

mamaeverythingtarian July 6, 2010 at 4:10 pm

The Rabbit Runner July 6, 2010 at 7:08 pm

mmm that pizza looks ahmazing! looks like you really enjoyed your weekend

Katharina July 6, 2010 at 8:02 pm

Holly!!! One of these days you are going to have a wordless weekend edition and I will be in it :D I wish more people were as full of life as you, and with your perspective on things. Actually… that’s one of the many reasons why you’re so special lol. So maybe it’s better if you’re the one and only :p I also spy a cheese spread that has my name written on it, I swear it’s there! Don’t you see it? lol

p.s. I think of you every time I go out to watch a World Cup match :D Beer is on the house for you!!! And you know what? You inspire me to live as well. I know at times you feel like your up to your ears with to-do lists but like I said earlier, you’ve got an awesome take on life. Even on days when you’re not feeling your best, you are still real and that’s really hard to find. Love you!

Kady @ Livin, Lovin, Learnin July 6, 2010 at 8:08 pm

Your weekend looks like a blast! I ate at Giordano’s in Chicago on a high school trip and one of my guy friends put down 4 pieces of that pizza. I have no idea where he put it all. I love that flag cake! So cute!

Lynn @ The Actors Diet July 6, 2010 at 9:22 pm

great pix, holly! i have always wanted to go to chicago. i would settle for some good mini golf right about now!

Erica D July 7, 2010 at 7:50 am

Mmm, the weekend looks great! I love Chicago. In fact, I’m not a pizza person in the least, but one deep dish I’ve had in that city still holds a dear place in my heart. I managed to get out of camp, drive to my cousin’s remote property in the mountains, and hang out with some cool kids for a while. I missed the fireworks, but I still got to drive some awesome ATV’s around! I love embracing my semi-redneck activities once in a while.

Susan July 9, 2010 at 3:22 pm

Okay. You HAVE to crash HLS in Chicago so we can get deep dish pizza. I’ve never had it before and that picture is making me salivate all over my laptop. We should probably have waffle cones together as well. And take more pictures of us jumping for no reason ;) LOVE YOU!!

Sherah (MeltyRobot) July 9, 2010 at 9:23 pm

YUM @ that Chicago pizza!! This is my favorite kind. There’s a place here tucked into the yuppiest, crowded-est mall that makes this serious Chicago-style sauce-covered spinach pizza that I would literally saw my arm off for. A gem in a land of meh. But the real thing must be divine.

Also, your hair is adorable. Also, you look like you’re having so much fun in life. Yay for serious living!
